For me, I am happy with the 215/85/16 i put on my B4D and on yours, it doesn’t look like you’ll need to worry about the rears rubbing together ?

Lol, note to self… before you fill up a 550ga tank of water to drive around the neighborhood, make sure the PO didn’t build the custom bed with the “c” channel directly over the rear tires I was so busy looking at the overloads, I didn’t think to check the bed clearance ? As soon as the load shifted, I was stopped! gots to do me a little modification at some point ?

Looking for some clarification on the 1 ton rear overload set up between years. in doing some work on the B4D, I saw the drivers side overload springs had a “bend” in them where they hit the stops. (And the stops are riveted on) just didn’t look right so, I went over to the B3D (51) chassis to look at a possible swap and they showed different (Beefier set up on the 51) my question is, how are other 1 tons set up? Are the stops riveted or bolted? Are there any other bent overload springs? Kinda seems weird someone would cut off the riveted stops off the 51 and I can’t imagine what it would take to bend two springs on the 53

Well shoot Brad, I was hoping to “hot rod” you around the track in my one ton.... speaking of suds, I washed the one ton last weekend (the “day” it was dry) and Julie just laughed and laughed at me ? I guess she found humor in me washing a rusted/ dented truck..... It’s all good though, I removed the passengers side visor ? can’t wait!- 99 replies

Ken does the Ranger have a brake controller? if not, I would vote to leave it this year and be safe. it would be nice to see it but… ? -
LOL, I think you might be on to something there…. if when you say Oregon you mean CA last year

Because it sits on the backside of the throttle lever, I never noticed how worn the “link” on the B&B carbs can get. On one of mine, I stuck a little weld on the worn area. Figured a little weld would outlast the link might be worth checking out before the driving season

Update? ?

Not a movie but, Julie and I just finished binge watching “Rockford files” and in looking for something different, found “Movin’ on” with Chet Adkins with in the first three minutes kinda looks like our B4D except for the factory bed, cab lights and that Desoto grill bar look. btw, don’t watch… he laid it on its side right after this shot ☹️

I call it patina lol, just “weather” the decal with a chain, like they do furniture ?

I use the 5/16” tubing. I believe The fitting you have is supposed to be threaded into the filter if you don’t have or want to use a different filter set up, the carb kits come with a female fitting or you can buy the separate at places like https://www.carburetor-parts.com/search.asp?keyword=Dte2+ or try Napa ? I use inverted flared tube nut for 5/16” tube 1/2x20 thread from the pump to the filter
