  1. Yeah, I’d try the classifieds first but, if that doesn’t pan out....... http://www.vendio.com/stores/bobsclassicautoglass/item/dodge-glass/1948-1952-dodge-truck-quarter-/lid=34408954
  2. LOL dude! Did you just say my spring is wound to tight? yep, that was it. ? the speedometer was not working at all for this truck, I’ll add another check mark in the “working again column” thanks!
  3. What a “crappie” deal Wally ? ( come on, you all were thinking the same thing lol) Did you get photos of the cylinder thru the block?
  4. I’ve had luck on a few parts tightening to break free then loosening
  5. I may take you up on that if I can’t get this one to work but, I can’t have you bailing me out every time ? So on the small pointer “rebound spring” what position should it be in? I have it wound one full turn after it was “relaxed” and resting on the “cup stop” thanks Wally!! ?
  6. Yeah it was in reverse ? For giggles, I may try and re-magnetize the magnet..... have you had success pulling the brass colored cap off the back? hey Wally, sorry to hijack your thread so badly but the title fit ?
  7. Weird, I am able to spin the one from “Rob” by hand and make it move. The ends of the bar are magnetic....I guess just not grabbing the cup?
  8. Merle you still have that speedometer? Or maybe you or someone would know.... my rust bucket “GA” the needle doesn’t move by turning the back of the speedometer where the cable inserts. The spring is fine for the needle to bounce Is the inner magnetic bar supposed to rotate separate from the outer metal “housing” section? the silver “cup”( To the right) is aluminum or something and the part that turns the needle. kinda confusing I know, hope it makes sense
  9. LOL, a little harsh don't you think? I say make him come to the BBQ next year.... we'll learn him.
  10. Joe he bent your horn ring!!
  11. Amen!!!! just received my Mastercool Friday, what a blast!!! ? used the 3/16, 1/4 and 5/16.... now if I can find some 1/2 tubing I might be able to move this rust bucket of a truck ?
  12. Hey welcome Tony ? Why do you want to change them? i won’t be able to give an absolute recommendation without seeing photos of your truck first ?
  13. Ed is just a kid Rob, he doesn’t know any better ? I have to admit I too bought HF recently (cause I thought I was young) blast gloves $29.99! two months later (one on the left) fell apart I bought a set from the Tacoma co. $35. Free shipping..... My new theory is “buy once, cry once”. ? say, looking at my pedal number on both trucks The number is the 126289... zero? looks like it was the same pedal used in the 1/2-1 ton but no second hole on them. If you think about it, Next time your under one of your Medium duty trucks wonder if yours is the same and the book had a typo? still don’t know what the second hole is for... would an over drive or 5sp change the MC push rod location?
  14. LOL, your awesome! Yeah Rob! I inherited a few sets and bought the one in the package years ago. I am just not smart enough to use them effectively. my new "Mastercool" one arrives Friday.....
  15. on my 52 a previous owner (fire department) installed an additional battery on the drivers side fire wall. it looked OK. I don't know if 57 has as much room..... I'd attach a photo if your interested but, i'll need to see a photo of your truck first.... cause nothin is free
  16. Ok that makes sense.... Rob as a reward I was gonna send you a prize but after the wise crack from minicooper, I‘ll send it to him instead ?
  17. Lol, neither Paul... but Mac Davis did sing a song about me once ?
  18. I’m with you, Speaking of Merle, luckily Julie and I saw him in small venue here in Oregon shortly before he died. One memorable moment for me was in the song, “Are the good times really over for good” The line, “wish a Ford and a Chevy would last 10 yrs like they should....” He sang, “wish a Ford and a Chevy would last 10yrs like a Dodge.....” The crowd erupted!!!!, (or maybe it was just in my row ?)
  19. Both are hydraulic with boosters
  20. Working with my B4GA there are two holes on the brake pedal Also same two holes on my B3HH.... I don’t see the second hole referenced in the manual. Anyone know if this is an additional adjustment of some kind? The upper hole is for the MC push rod on both trucks. my b3b and b4d don’t have the second hole....
  21. Man, I am naïve, I either ignore or don’t see the political or religious content. Where does it usually show up? The car side, truck side or OT? Todd, life is too short, take a break and come back.... I know you can hear me ?
  22. LC, your thread title is “ am I just a grumpy old man?” And a commercial for AARP is playing in the back ground ? LOL, that my friend is COMEDY!!!!! (And yes, you are ?)
  23. Myself, this usually cheers me up ?
  24. That’s awesome Rob! even wore the shirt! Dang, that is a “no joke” brake system!! ?
