Hey, I like the tow truck also ? -
Rob has duals on the rear.... you wouldn’t forgive yourself if you had them and they got damaged somehow. Keep walking Bill, nothing to see here ?

Sorry Hayden, I am no help. it looks like a fuel mixture issue to me. Guess I see a little blow by at the idle.... but nothing I’d worry about. if it were me, I’d make sure the valves were set, the fuel mixture is correct, vacuum time it and work on the brakes. ? but, I am not a mechanic and I’m going blind, so ignore what I just said, LOL -
LOL, plan B

Thanks JB! some day I hope to have patience enough to use the search function as effectively ? Just Ordered me a starter clutch and a set of brushes. Sounds like a good rainy fall day project.

Swing and a miss, Looks like Jimbob has a starter issue what part on the starter causes this mis engagement or wears out and needs attention? Going to switch starters for now but, I was gonna work it over next fall. Thanks

Ken, east on Kettleman, left on 88, right on Brandt.... then roll your window down, listen for the subtle sound of a flathead with Swiss cheese for an exhaust system. Or look on the horizon for the blueish white cloud...... that will be me. I’ll be on the track preparing to “school” those T-5 brothers ? -

“fix the blinkers” ? -
LOL, Killjoy!

I am probably the wrong person to answer. I vote, take the tappet covers off, make sure the valves open and close, make sure the timing is right, get the radiator in and fire it up ?
-
For sure, we are easily entertained ? your right, synchro’d now I have to work on figuring the two speed end of things. my HH only has a High and Low knob, this trucks vacuum line to the speedometer was deleted (seems like this only effects the speedometer accuracy) But the cable on the stick shift was not as freely moving as I think it should be. I swapped the valves from ones I just cleaned up for “Buck” but, I’d like to rebuild the factory cable from Buck and use it. (Mostly cause I don’t care for the hose clamp look and it’s original) Also not 100% on the entire vacuum system yet (with the way the ride ended.) isn’t there a way to check for vacuum leaks with hair spray or starter fluid?

Gosh I can see why TJ said that. The second photo doesn’t look right to me either.... almost looks like a throttle plate off a carb or something down in the intake hole .
-
Lol, she bailed cause it was snanky and she couldn’t stand the smell anymore After watching YouTube, I removed the fuel tank and “flushed” it. Not proud of the method and I wouldn’t do it again, but now I’ve got to dump it out and try and burn off the residue.

Back in business! short trip with my best friend but, we had fun. Yeah, it was actually an undersized throttle return spring issue ? how embarrassing
-
Glad you got it figured out for yours. Neither of my flatbeds are factory but the one ton has the 84” you refer to. The “GA” has a 91” wide bed that (to me) fits nicely because someone also put the 8.25x 20’s on the rear and apparently that puts the tire width to 88” back there ?
