  1. Great. I have been looking at their website for a while. I wouldn't mind seeing a picture of it before it is installed. Did you get an alloy one or is it conventional? Not too worried about the cold where we are looking to move......but it does get mighty hot there some of the time. Besides I love exploring the desert and I don't want to have to worry about the radiator being adequate. Their product looks first class online....... Thanks, Jeff
  2. If you get a chance please post some pictures of your radiator along with the model # you got. It looks like we may be moving to the mountains of Northern Arizona in the next year or so and I really want the best radiator I can get. Thanks, Jeff
  3. Paul; You need the turquoise one.......comes with a boat and it looks great. But then you would have to paint the truck to match....... Jeff
  4. Ah huh. That about sums it up. It's a Mad Mad world here. Welcome! Jeff I can't wait to get out of here......
  5. Remember that the voltage to the spark plugs is on the order of 20,000 volts. One of my favorite tools is an adjustable gap spark tester. This little $10 tool is available at most motorcycle shops. If your system is working properly you should be able to get it to jump a gap of about a quarter of an inch. You can also make a tester from an old plug with the gap opened up. Either way these simple little tools will give you the answer you need to move forward with confidence. When I first started using these I was proving out a Lucas magneto on an AJS 500. If one of those sketchy beasts will produce a spark good enough to jump a 1/4" then so should the powered up system in your car. Jeff
  6. A couple of suggestions. Have you checked the quality of the spark you are getting? It is worth checking. A simple test can tell you a lot. How about the condenser? Hth; Jeff
  7. Thanks. It is a period step bumper that was on it when I got the truck. I had it narrowed down some and shot it with bed liner. It is very functional. Jeff
  8. Just finished swapping in the spare wiper motor I reconditioned. I reckon I did a good job as it works even better than I had hoped for. That is more like it. I have been using the old beast. Here is a picture of it with a load of doors in it. We took a couple of loads like this over to the wide belt sander this week. I figure this is a 700# to 800# load and it handles it no problem. Got several thumbs up at the sanding shop and along the way back and forth. It feels good to put it back to work. Jeff
  9. Can't help you with any specifics but I have a 3.55 rear axle in my truck and it is IMO a bit too high for the truck. 3.73 would probably work better. Jeff
  10. and there is no 'garontee he will listen once he can hear........
  11. Is this truck a 3/4 ton model? If so then the model is a B-2-C. Does it have a fluid drive? or is it a 3 speed? This affects the model of the carb. Jeff
  12. Welcome aboard. You have some pretty good locals....they shpold chime in soon. Ditto on the pictures....Love those UTES Jeff
  13. Another thought. Have you tried talking with a shop that rebuilds rear axles. Someone who works on these daily might have some idea or a suggestion as to what might work as a swap. Worth a try. I totally get what you are trying to do....but I doubt it will be an easy gear swap. Jeff
  14. It doesn't seem to me that this kind of swap is a very likely option. At least not that big of a jump. You might find something slightly taller but I kind of doubt you would be able to go from 5.4 up to 4.1 in this housing. Perhaps someone here has a manual which shows the options available at the time? Jeff
  15. Thanks. I use it all the time........helps to keep cab clutter to a minimum too. J
  16. That is very cool. What a fun little bike to putt around on. Jeff
  17. It is not needed. You will find it works fine as long as those mounts are in good shape. Jeff
  18. You should have a front engine mount and a pair of mounts at the bell housing just ahead of the transmission. Jeff
  19. A big thanks to all of you who made it to our gathering this morning. I really enjoyed meeting all of you and hope we can do it again. What a great group! And a special thanks to Rod for the T-shirts and Bill for the doughnuts. Glad we were able to enjoy the morning together. Jeff and Don.....see I told you I don't have a good side.
  20. Good luck.....see ya soon. Jeff
  21. There will be fresh ground coffee waiting for those who make it....... Jeff
  22. Latest weather report looks like we will have a sunny morning. Yeah!!! 9am at the shop and then we will make a run to Knowlwoods on Sand Canyon around noon. The shop address is: Heart of Oak Workshop 8 McLaren, Unit H Irvine, Ca. 92618 (949) 461-9558 PM me if you need directions Look forward to seeing you. Jeff
  23. What Dave suggested plus take lots of photos. Jeff
  24. Well to put it in cat terms........it looks like the crystallized crud of a crimean cat that crept into his crib and crapped
  25. To be honest Don I don't think I have one.
