  1. It’s seems the Chinese scale model manufacturers have not yet found this web site. For if they have they might have learned that an inline six 201 motor doesn’t have chrome valve covers. Don’t know why I never looked under the hood of my scale model diecast cars before.
  2. Have a look in the reference section of the forum. I have scanned and posted several documents there from several 1950s magazine articles.
  3. Stupid spell check... the title of this point should read stock not *stick* ADMIN, can you please change my mistake?
  4. Curious to see if anyone in the forum has sliced a stock head open? I’d like to see what’s going on inside and possible run some fluid dynamics modeling.
  5. Copper spray one side only. Don’t overlook the torquing sequence, and remember to retourque after running the motor to temp.
  6. Set the crane up yesterday then laid down on the floor, the cold concrete floor in an unheated garage, with a balmy 26° and snowing outside. Said to myself what are you doing? Post of the car on line, and had eight people lined up within three hours. This projects going to go to somebody else with more time and heated garage. Will use the new found space to work on my 28 Chrysler. Best of luck Duly, I’ll be following the conversation.
  7. Duly, i understood your first post. Crazy how these threads go off on tangeants.
  8. The Plymouth motor I’m getting comes with a trans. I think I’m gonna transfer it all into the dodge. However when I have it at my place this weekend I’ll do a side by side to see what I’m up against. Only thing I can think of as an obstacle is the clutch linkage.
  9. Getting ready to do the near same transplant. Motor from a ‘53 Plymouth belvedère into a ‘53 Dodge Coronet. Never done it before, likely a few challenges ahead of me. Gonna be following this thread with interest. ...One mountain at a time as they say.
  10. Hey all - Just to make sure that I don't miss any emails and registrations, I have added some automation to our mailing list. If you wish to be included in updates on this event, AND HAVENT ALREADY GIVEN ME YOU EMAIL ADDRESS, please use the following link to access our sign up page. Once the planning team has gotten some commitments on route and stops we will put out a communication. http://eepurl.com/heC-Ov thanks all for your interest. Looking forward to seeing more of you this year in Watkins Glen. Cheers! Mark
  11. Ward is also a member of our Facebook P15 convertible page.
  12. A great time had by all, even though we were at 8 cars (down from 40 registrations) covid didn’t prevent us from having a great time. Appreciate all that came and lended a hand in making the weekend work! Looking forward again to P15 Picnic USA 2021!
  13. Was this the inventory that advertised for Sale in the local papers out there a couple years ago?
  14. Frank - drop me an email. I’m pretty sure I have this on pdf. cheers, mark mark@rdusaclassics.com www.rdusaclassics.com
  15. Nice car! What part of NC? Wife and I have a house in East NC, near Oriental and will be full time down there in about two years. Hoping to there’s a few guys around the area that like to wrench and chew the fat, and toss back the occasional beer.
  16. really hope to have you but, if the borders are closed, there is a potential for a few of the Canadian folks to pick up the pieces and gather above the border. I will put you in touch with the team up there and keep praying for a vaccine. Mark
  17. Thanks, Next week I’ll get the car into the garage and will get some better pics after she’s on the lift .
  18. There’s no fluid drive nomenclature on the car, just Coronet script on the front fenders. Here’s a shot of the trans and the carb. Note the lack of solenoids on the trans and the missing kickdown wiring on the carb. Carb is stamped D6V1, reports out as correct for the year from the Carter catalog. Doesn’t appear to have been screwed around with much in the wiring, I can’t find anything missing or cut off.
  19. I should have mentioned prior, 23” block.
  20. A few photos with some marking... wondering if this was rebuilt? Haven’t seen these on other factory assembled motors.
  21. Hey all, Picked this car up the other night and am looking for some advice on what to do next. Obviously the motor is stuck and the prior owner has tried (not sure how much) to free it. Upon further inspection of the cylinder walls I’m not sure that just freeing the motor is going to be the thing that get her running again. I’ve got a line on a p20 218 motor... is it a simple pull and replace or am I better off to hunt down a dodge 230? Doesn’t pear from the underside that this is a fluid drive, did these come with a standard three speed clutched trans? appreciate the advice. Mark D
  22. Whether it’s in my car or in my wallet, the investment will end up in my kids hands someday. After I created a business exporting cars to the UK, EU & Middle East, the parts funds stopped coming out of the joint checking account, and that helped too. As to your judging comments I understand the reasoning, but I think there’s so few aiming for that status nowadays, and the majority of us “low priced field” owners would make this upgrade for reliability and driveability. I’m all for driving over judging. I buy them purely for enjoyment and not for reward.
  23. Saw this on Jay Lenos garage the other day. Wondering if anyone’s tried them here? https://www.gener-nator.com
