  1. Damn good looking car & I agree on the stance......definitely would look better lower......in MY opinion.
  2. Mine are round, but flattened (factory) as they round the axle, not sure about other years....mine's a '38. New longer u-bolts will come with your blocks, but save all the "take-off" parts.
  3. Though my car is 10 years older, same difference. I started out with 3" blocks & the original 70+ year old sagging springs. Was fairly low, but the scrub line was below the rim & ran it this way for a couple years. Then I bit the bullet & bought a pair of Posie's 3" lowered rear leaf springs & it was a bit higher than with the 3" blocks and old springs. I removed a couple leafs....still not low enough for my taste, so I cut my 3" blocks down to 1" and installed those. It's about as low as I can go without bottoming out on the stops or going with a "C" notch (maybe in the future). My front has parallel leafs also & I was just going to remove a couple leafs from the stock set-up, but 1 of the eyes was broken off, so ended up having a spring shop make up a set, slightly lowered, which ended up in a slight taildragger stance (which I like a lot), but I wanted the front a little lower, so I removed a couple leafs & this is where I'm at now. **EDIT** Here's a link to a thread I forgot about....should help a little:http://p15-d24.com/topic/33585-new-ways-to-lower-the-rear-end/
  4. If the OP's Hudson is "fake", I'd take a "fake" or "real" 2 door Hudson in a heartbeat.
  5. Is your M/C higher or lower than the calipers? I thought if the M/C is lower than the caliper, brake fluid would slowly drain back to the M/C.
  6. Steering wheel & knobs look great! It's a shame chrome is so expensive.....in my late teens/early twenties, I took chrome plating at the community college near me just to chrome all the small parts.
  7. Make sure you start a build thread.....I definitely like traditional hot rods.
  8. Welcome from So Cal. Any pics of the Dodge? Dual carb intakes are not interchangeable between the 23" & 25" blocks. They come up once in a while on ebay, here's an original Mopar set-up w/exhaust: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Factory-Mopar-dual-carb-intake-Flathead-Six-/171466132070?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27ec2d8a66&vxp=mtr
  9. Please update your brake issue thread when you find out about the Wilwood calipers. Their website shows GM single piston calipers, which I think are what I used for my conversion......need to look further into it. Sorry for the highjack.
  10. I've also been using a 6V starter on 12V for about 4+ years with no issues whatsoever. This is not a daily driver.
  11. Here is his thread:http://p15-d24.com/topic/36732-rusty-hope-discs-leak-problems/?hl=brake Please note, it has nothing to do with Rusty Hope's/Charlie's disc brake conversion (as I have used it on my car). It was the re-manufactured calipers that had issues.
  12. I used stainless steel sheet metal screws in the original holes & they sit well below the raised sides of the cloth type lacing/gasket (whatever you want to call it), so no scratched paint on the underside of the hood. Rivets will work, but need to be drilled out to replace.....screws, unscrew & move on. Like was mentioned, use an awl to locate the original holes & size screws accordingly, if used.
  13. Is that "period correct" window tint? All the chrome/stainless looks to be in great condition, as does the interior.
  14. That clarifies it for the OP on which '39 models.
  15. After you type your response, click on the "more reply options" next to "post". From there, you will see an option to "attach files" (browse you computer or from an offsite pic hosting site). Good luck. There may be threads on this, you can try the search function. **EDIT:Welcome.
  16. Plymouth:1938 & earlier had floor shift, 1939 was the first year for column shift.
  17. Similar concept as the Can-Am Spyder? Maybe you can start a build thread in the O.T. section, if there are no objections.
  18. Good work on the headers.....getting closer.
  19. Can't help with the radio, but, that car is NICE!
  20. If you're referring to the pic in my post above......100% stock.....damn engineers.
  21. Why start a new thread on the same subject? You should add the pic to your existing thread.
  22. Here ya go......
  23. Keep choppin' away!
