I'm sort of in the same boat. I need the passenger glass channel for my '38 Coupe. The rollers with the spring lost there tension and doesn't roll up properly. I'll mess with sooner or later. Your '40 is a beauty....1 of my favorite body styles. NICE WORK!!!

I've used thread sealant with teflon for the studs, for the gasket/housing, I used the expensive Permatex Indian Head gasket Shellac Compound on each sealing surface....think it was around $4. No leaks, but kind of messy.

If you go with the Edgy head, it takes about 3 months....or at least it did for me 2-1/2 years ago. Worth the wait.

Mine is mounted just in front of the rear axle on the inside frame rail with a filter between the pump and the tank. It's close enough to the tank to push. I also have a filter just before the split in the fuel line for my dual carbs. No pics though.

I think what Tim is saying is, core/demo a hole in the garage floor a few inches from the back wall, about 6"-8" diameter, then with a post hole digger, go down 2'-3', drop in the 4" round pipe (1/4"-5/16" thick) and fill around AND inside the pipe with concrete. Close enough to the wall to be out of the way, strong enough to pull just about any rolling vehicle, and doubles as a parking stop in case the brakes don't work. You can even do as Big Daddy said and add a plate or fixture for a bench type mounted power tool.
