  1. JAMES, remember these radiators cooled the flatheads at 30+ mph.
  2. So, why did mine throw a rod? Still baffles me. I had the replacement pistons and rods balanced to prevent, yet still lost #5.
  3. I sold “gave” a six bladed fan to a buyer in Australia, UPS, $145. Took it to the PO and shipped it for less than $25.00. Arrived on time! But then years ago, they found a Pony Express rider under a large tree wit an arrow in his back and the postal bag unmolestested. So they’ve had problems before! I guess you just take your chances.
  4. Today I put a starter into a brown box, 12 X 12 X 4. UPS . ... $70, same at the post office. So I put it in a white priority box of the same size, shipping COST dropped to $23.00. Destination, North Carolina, USA. INTERESTING.,
  5. Approximately what did those parts cost? I’m researching to install a Vintage Air VW unit in my truck. The inside space of the trucl cab is less than a VW sedan and the VW compressor only requires a 30 hp engine. Food for thought!
  6. Working on my ‘53 Plymouth. I ordered one from Roberts. Trust it’s the correct one!
  7. It had to happen, especially in an election year!
  8. I threw my old rags on the floor. I believe they self lit. A tough Sunday morning!
  9. I put together a new oil on my bench. But my flex hose is no good and I’m having a difficult time finding a new one, VPW has them but very pricy. Suggestions will be appreciated. paul i found what I need at Roberts. Ordered it!
  10. Adams, Who would want to have armadillos for pets, in any season, or have to switch the stoves from the porch twice a year?
  11. The dirty one is too long. I have a rebuilt starter I don’t need.
  12. When I read about your maladies, I’m very fortunate and thankful to have lived 82 years mostly pain free. Have some knee and arthritis problems, but still getting along. My best wishes to each and all of you.
  13. I see a couple of gauges down to the left on the dash? What are they?
  14. Milo, sorry i hijacked your thread. Your coupe looks great, a job well done. An inspiration for me to finish my Suburban. How well does it ride and how does it drive? Is The V8 about the same weight as the flathead six? TKS for the update.
  15. ‘54 grill is better in my opinion. I an going non chrome one bar, but no modifications so a future buyer is able to go stock if he pleases.
  16. Robert, yes I did, but I’m older now. Time to quit. 30+ 100 + degree days and counting doesn’t help. Tim most of us are not so talented as you are.
  17. Mikorat, I’ve got two to finish now, my Suburban and my Sportster.both are nearly done. Bit I’m I’m too old and tired to start a third. Would love to turn it into this. I know this is a hardtop, but I love the colors.
  18. So, mine is a club coupe! Bought it for a parts carbecause it has an overdrive. Did a compression check, 100,75,95,110,105,110. So looked closer. Spark plugs, points, wires are all new when garaged. No dents, driver door Will need some help. All the side trim, etc is in the trunk. Now not sure what I’ll do with it.
  19. V 12, seller says buyer can drive it home! How many cars had V12 engines? We’re they good engines?
  20. These people must have a few dollars also.
  21. I first sprayed everything behind the dash with acetone to thin any oil, since acetone quickly evaporates, thought that was safe. Connection at battery still off. Then I covered the area with backing soda and forced it into cracks and joints. Then let that rest for 15 minutes and put the air hose to it. That really cleaned things. I checked back after an hour and no wet spots. Will wait until morning then recheck and reblow with air before I close it back up.
  22. One solution thar I will use first. Apply baking soda to the area. This will soak up the oil. Allow the baking soda to sit for 10-15 minutes.[4] then will vacuum and blow it all out.
  23. When I started my engine, the connection to the oil gauge was wrong and I pumped some oil into / onto the back of the dash, which now must be a fire hazard. I.have opened It up so I can somewhat get to it, And cleaned all the wires but there remains oil in the recesses and seeps out. Oil does not evaporate, so it must be removed. Suggestions requested!
  24. On the shoes, contacted the seller who taught me that the top cam adjustments must be set back. Did that and the shoes fit. Been extremely hot so not making much progress these days.
