  1. Great thread, Saw a PBS show about this subject a few years ago. Opened my eyes to how many of these cars are still around and how much effort is being put into them.
  2. Last year I bought a left windshild wiper arm for my 52 that cost me over $40 from Moore's. Bougtht two complete left and right yeaterday on e-bay for $16.00. I understand the post way to well.
  3. JC Whitney. Good price, works so good my neighbor borrowed it for his repair business last year. Haven't seen it since
  4. Nice Never got to the end though
  5. There are a lot of people who won't be happy until we are all lining up for the bus or train each morning.
  6. When I listened to the first video I thought it sounded more like valves needing adjustment. Now not so sure. Can you post a sound test from near the motor under the hood? Hard to hear it clearly from inside or at the tail.
  7. Thank you. It is a Special Model. Slant 6, automatic, wheel trim rings, power steering, pin stripping, and AM Radio. That's it. I took a little ribbing from my fellow Dairyland members till they saw it. I really like to drive it around. Not real fast. 100 Hp. You couldn't have given me one in 1980(in fact I had a Plymouth Arrow Pick up at that time, Sport model,). Cruises at 70 all day, 22 mpg.
  8. Here it is. Bought it in Cincinnati in 2007 with 8400 miles on it. Got about 21,000 now
  9. Northeast Illinois near the WI boarder on Lake Michigan
  10. I have them in the pictures section of my computer.
  11. I have been trying to post a pic of my Volare for a couple of days. without success. Can you please tell me how you were able to get pics posted in the forum on a post. Everywhere I try failure results. Thanks in advance.
  12. I will as soon as my wife can help me post it.
  13. My first was a 1954 Plymouth Savoy that my Father had completely given up on. I was 17 in High School and broke. The engine held about 10 psi of Oil pressure and had a rod in #5 that would lock up and seize the engine about every 6 months or so. Still it was mine and I loved it. Drove it just like the kid I was. It still lasted over a year before the clutch went out. Got $4 for it at the junk yard. Started me down a long line of Plymouths that continues today with my 52 Cranbrook and my 80 Volare.
  14. The only thing to be careful of is they have a 30 day window for return. I missed one on a belt for my daughter's car by 5 days and had to eat it.(they sent the wrong one, didn't matter)
  15. Pleased to meet you. Have a 52 4-door myself
  16. I joined the 47% at the end of 2012 after 40 years in commercial printing. Enough was enough.
  17. And I was just about to whine about our "Wintery Mix" starting tonight with 1-2 inches on top of some freezing rain but now I think I will just keep my mouth shut
  18. There is still one in Kenosha Wisconsin that I went to as a child. Now my 22 year old daughter sometimes gets in the car and goes to it. Apparently still enough profit that they are open 7 nights a week in the summer
  19. I used their special product to seal the inside of my 52's tank 10 years ago and so far all is well. I imagine that they still make it.
  20. I too favor the Olds. But I expect most of us here would, after all it is a Website for Old Mopars at heart.
  21. In Northeast Illinois its 32 degrees and cloudly(on the Lake)
  22. And the worst part is he is laying on the one he wants
  23. That vidio reminds me of my cousin(much older than I) who worked at the now closed Fisher Body Plant in Willow Springs, Il. He moved fenders as those workers did in the movie and once remarked that his job was so strenuous that he only worked four hours out of 8( 1/2 hour on, 1/2hour off.
  24. My 80 Volare has been used in 4 TV shows or movies. Biggest(if it survives the cutting room) is the Superman movie out in 2013
