  1. I see the 50 Dodge has separate chrome letters.......but not always easy to find just one. The parts for sale section on this forum.........parts for sale on the H A M B.......parts for sale on any other old Mopar forums. Hemmings Motor News.....they have a web site. Desert Valley Auto Parts in Phoenix.........link.............. http://www.dvap.com/
  2. Paul......there should be several archived discussions and descriptions on how to make de-rusting tanks, electrolysis tanks and such things. Also there are building plans on the internet for those tanks. It's pretty amazing the rust and crud those tanks can eat off a piece of metal.
  3. Can't find a picture.......but my linkage is now hooked up like the picture from the manual. Son in law changed it when he had stuff off, cleaning and re-painting the engine following the tornado damage. It works fine, but I would like to someday put it back incorrect so I don't have to hook the return spring to the brace for the air cleaner. I was using the air cleaner with NO brace just to eliminate some clutter from the engine.. Not sure I now have all the old pieces removed from the incorrect installation......and have not been in the mood to re-trace or re-create the arrangement.....yet.
  4. In the P15 Parts Manual................
  5. At one time, my linkage was like this......with the return spring pulling toward the rear. And it worked just fine. Don't know who set it up or any thing else about it. Is the choke cable in the last picture.............attached to that rod with a makeshift piece
  6. Hi Welcome Decent looking old Plym from the picture. Will probably be the only one like it at the cruise-in.
  7. I try to buy extra P15 parts (if priced reasonably) at swap meets and any other place in my travels. Put them in a box on the shelf for possible future use. I know I have used some things over the years from my shelf stock. Some things may never get used.......but..............at least I had whatever it was. I have concluded that--- if the asking price is good on eBay......the "buy it now" button is your friend. And also nowadays......many folks are offering free shipping. So, it can behoove a person to wade thru the entire section of things you might want -- to see how many sellers are giving free ship and compare to asking prices plus shipping. Just a couple thoughts regarding costs of things we want or need.
  8. I think they are identified with pics & model numbers in the front of the service/repair manual. And...you are finding out people don't really know what they have. Most Plymouths came in the cheaper Deluxe model and the better Special Deluxe.
  9. Haven't tried selling anything out of the trunk yet..........but have used numerous of my period "knick knacks" to display in (more or less) themes.
  10. The number of old Chrysler product owners in the U K has been inching up over the past few years. I suspect you are still pretty much a minority.......but you fellows all have some nice looking Mopars. Keep us informed on your doings along the way. Welcome Buick John. (see......this time he didn't buy a Buick)
  11. Good repair.............just goes to show you a person needs to look at stuff when something's not right. Your initial guess or two may not provide the answer, but looking will often lead you to the answer......whatever it is.
  12. Glad to hear progress is being made. The exterior of the car looked pretty good in early photos. Too bad it went downhill over the years. Ah well..........now you have a project to keep you busy. Keep us posted on your progress and plans.
  13. Next question is............how can that be either accomplished........or determined?
  14. There's the answer to any lower price between Eagle and Champion radiators........................
  15. I also have another pair of skirts........made of fiberglass............they have yet another mounting system.....and go in under the lip of the fender opening, rather than overlay the opening. Just showing them as another alternative that's out there..................
  16. Perhaps you feel more as the new rubber is more firm than old............maybe even the composition of today's new rubber is different than when original stuff was new. Thanks for that insight.
  17. Looks good all over. How do you open the doors, trunk..... as there are now no handles nor locks? Re the wipers.......there was a post just recently by someone who used an electric, one speed wiper motor from the tailgate of an SUV to replace his vacuum motor. He had to invent some mounting hardware, but the size of the unit fit in the available space under the dash. Just a thought.
  18. Very nice looking Chrysler..............welcome.
  19. I think the gas rationing was attached to names of family members........I think there was even a gas ration booklet with my name as an infant listed. Not sure just how it worked, but this ration ticket has my father's name on it..............car was a 36 Plymouth. Another related paper...........
  20. Twist...........hmm, I think that was Chubby Checker.
  21. If you think the car is still trickling off battery power while parked, you can always add one of these battery cutoff switches to turn off the system power.
  22. Thanks. Good to know.
  23. In other words.....you have to have something to go behind the top edge of the wheel opening, as well as something to hold them at each end. If there are no mounting items, then you will need to become inventive. I made my own attaching pieces which were so-so.......then secured each end of the skirt with a very small sheet metal screw painted to match the car. Works for me.......but not everyone may like that method. You hardly notice the screw heads.
  24. What sort of attaching hardware is on the back side of the skirts? Here's a set of aftermarket skirts on eBay...........*****NOTE.......these are NOT for a P15.....only using as an example of the mounting system.
