  1. Hi Nice car. You should be able to buy 0 or 00 gauge battery cables at a battery specialty store. At least, that's where I got mine........they cut to needed length and crimped on the ends. *****You would need to make sure your sill mats are the same size as a 46--48 Plymouth******** There is a fellow I met at the Hershey swap meet last fall who re-produces those door sill step plates. The rubber part looks identical to riginal.......but........they do not have the metal piece under them. You have to glue them into lace. He sells them on eBay.
  2. The P15 convertibles apparently came in every color available on sedans........plus Sumac Red or Charlotte Ivory if so ordered. Looking on eBay......there were several P15 color charts for sale. They showed Sumac and Ivory with no notations about limited use. Finally found one from Martin-Seanor that listed Ivory as "convertible only".
  3. In 1946-1948 there were two colors that were only for the convertible and the station wagon...........Sumac Red (a dark red) and Charlotte Ivory (a light tannish yellow). I have never seen an original one of these cars like a sedan with either of these colors. Not to say it wasn't perhaps done. I imagine there were exceptions made for certain buyers who had the money or the clout.
  4. I was watching one of those lawyer tv shows recently.......had to do with the fact some fellow had put out a program or whatever operates these machines......that would make a working pistol. It seemed there was a weak place in the finished gun due to how the printer made a certain piece.......and a gun blew up. That was the first time I had heard about the 3D printers. Did you ever see that video Jay Leno has made about a machine in his shop that can reproduce old car parts.....maybe it is one of these printers, but much larger and more expensive.......like ggdad was talking about. Can that machine make something that looks like chrome plating? That would be a deal there. Very interesting.
  5. Don Coatney sent me this link to a video about a drive-in restaurant in California. Lots of cool old cars when they were pretty new.......many Chrysler products included. https://vimeo.com/110260174
  6. Can you lie in the seat, and look at the back side of the steering wheel...? There should be two or three holes ...... and you will need probably a Phillips screwdriver If not Phillips..........then use a flat blade.. They come out turning to the left.......just like backing out any bolt. Should let the horn ring center come off.
  7. In my humble opinion..........there quite a few real "homely" 52 and 53 Plymouths. Better if they look like Robert's with two tone paint and some trim.
  8. Here is another picture of the rubber parts. A fellow on eBay sells the larger cone shaped items.......but you don't seem to see the smaller ones. The bottom, long item, is the front mount. It can sometimes be re-vulcanized according to some people.
  9. Looks like a pretty complete car. Yes.....unless you are an old hand with these cars, I think there would be lots of pieces you'd wonder about.
  10. That third picture appears to be the block stamping........which starts with "P15".........which would indicate that to be a Plymouth 1946-48 engine. Very similar to a Dodge motor.
  11. The P15 pipe is thicker on the end because it forms the place for the gas cap to lock into. It might go......but probably not.
  12. Yes......that piece of chrome trim on the ash tray matches the trim on the dash. If the quality of the current offerings on eBay are not so good.......wait a few days and see if something better appears.
  13. Good offer Gene,,,,,,,maybe I need a road trip to Columbia. I have 4 wheels -- 3 of which are originals from the car.....have gotten rusty sitting around for many years. Plus old paint on the front sides. Have a set of 16" tires removed from my Caravan to put on them.
  14. Good question.....I guess you have to be able to carry whatever it is......should eliminate a frame.
  15. Good..............
  16. The above suggestion sounds like the most simple solution. Of course, the pipe will probably be a bit of a fight to loosen from the rubber joiner piece........
  17. Hi Tony. I sent you a P M.
  18. Going to a swap meet about 35 miles from here this weekend, sponsored in part by a hot rod shop. In the ad, it says they will sandblast an item that you can carry in....for $30 each. So I may take some wheels that have gotten rusty. After reading some posts on the HAMB on blasting........the cost is apparently reasonably reasonable........
  19. The convertible uses a shorter wiper arm and shorter blade than other models......but I don't know why they couldn't have used the same wiper pivot arrangement as the other cars. Convert pivots are fancier looking, of course. And ,,,,,,the wiper motor on a covertible is actually a bit smaller than a sedan. Uses a specific and different part number.
  20. I expect the neighbors would appreciate the get dressed part..............LOL IF your carpet or floor mat is turned back where you can get to the two bolts holding the dimmer switch in place...... it makes the switch easier to work with (in my opinion) if you let it drop down. While you are at it, you might make sure all your connections are clean and tight.
  21. If you have either a repair manual or a parts manual, I think it lists serial numbers for given years...........within a range of numbers.......and which plant produced them. Hopefully I am remembering right. If so, you might use that indicator of year along with the build sheet. Sometimes the more ammunition, the better. (My title says mine is a 1948 model when it is really a 47 model. And the numbers do not match those on the frame. I got antique plates back in 1973 based on that title, and they are good as long as I own the car. So, I call it a 47 model and nobody argues about it.) Might be some question if I ever have to transfer the title......will wait til then I guess.
  22. P15 convert wiper tower........... Yep..........and they are pretty darn hard to find. A new one appeared on eBay quite a while back.....sold for $150. Corresponded with the seller......who had a second one........which he also sold to the first buyer. I said something about both being for the same side........the seller said you can switch them and make one work for the other side............so if you need both, but can find two for the same side, grab them. I don't know where to suggest looking except for eBay. You might go there and set up a notification to be sent to you if that item appears.
  23. Your heater appears to be a silver...grey color..........may be correct but I don't know that. Found this Model 36 heater on eBay ..... is about the same color as mine, a sort of metallic light brown.
  24. No.......have never dealt with them. Looks like they have lots of stuff.
