  1. years ago I saw this fixed by a shop..won't go any further than that except to say I saw it and it was not me...lol But!! the fix was taking out the race..using a sharp center punch and go around the entire hub where the race sits and punch little dents..this will distort the metal and actually shrink the ID so that the new race can again be pressed into place...may very well work for you and save you a lot of headaches..your car..your call...by the way this did work very well.
  2. try this thread..pictures and all... http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/showthread.php?t=1045

  4. your make and model is not in your profile..there are different units out there..one needs this tad of info...
  5. years ago I bought a convertible like this back to life ..had to make the floor pans and trunk floor and rockers from scratch...could not at the time even find a rocker panel...If this car needs panels of anysort, see if they are available prior to purchase..could make all the difference bwteen a love/hate relationship.

  7. The intent on this is to hold the tire in some sort of alignment while you start the lug BOLTS..you can whack these if you so desire for you an drill a orentation hole in your donor wheel to continue use of this aid in mounting the tire...
  8. Makes you want to run right out and buy one...!!!
  9. that very small area of yellow really set off the wheel...red is too stark...
  10. Don..thanks buddy..after looking at that rusty hulk..I have to go get a tetnus shot. No idea but the guy that bought it did and was more than happy to get it I am sure..frame alone could be worth it..
  11. Not sure just how many years this was applicable but in my book it shows the battery grounded to the front drivers side of the engine on a drilled and threaded head bolt. My 54 is original and it is there also..being a 54 model car and the book covers 46-54..one can but guess.
  12. It is nasty outside so I have spent a bit over an hour on this..I have 92 out of 100..as I am not a chevy fan I have trouble with a few model names...I will eventually get it but this is enough for now..I have but two that I have not named the make...so without the make I cannot get the model..so that leaves basically only 4 models not named.
  13. try this... 14. headlights..upper beam...45 watts lower beam 35 watts Parking and tail light....3 cp Stop lamp 21 cp license plate light 3 cp light switch protected by 30 amp fuse my book did not give number of replacement bulb..but Hey..you did get the cp listing..headlights are ususally always rated in wattage...(volts X amps)
  15. one other item..on your dash starter switch...be sure that it is not sticking on...even though the buton may return does not necessary man the contacts are not sticking inside..this is tested by disconnecting and checking with ohm meter.
  16. first determine if the starter solenoid is sticking or not...that is what applies your voltage to the starter..also is you starter switch securely mounted to the dash and not lose causing it to maybe short across the contacts aor even have lose contacts here that may be shorting...
  17. gonna try to put a few miles on it today to check it's roadworthy..probably drive it uptown a bit, fill it up and get a spare key made if possible...then maybe run by the tag office and take care of that...first things first thogh..go to make it to the landfill..too many old tires about the place that have to go deep six. Took mums and the boy out to Shoney's for breakfast...now going to try and get some work out of them..yeah right...!!!!!!!
  18. Allan, I did drive the Spitfire out of the shop tonight with the exhaust system now complete..looks good and sounds good also..not bad considering I had only a 2 1/2 collector as a start...I used a reducer and took 2 1/4 to the rear..then reduced it to 2 inch as I had a Dodge Diplomat muffler and rear pipe like new in the barn..after a bit of cutting and weldingl viola..an exhaust system is born. Maybe now I can get the shop a bit straightened up and get back to work on my 41..
  19. Brad..the few times I have been to your house..never met the little lady..she sure looks good in blue....
  20. which of the 12 version of the game did you play..don't think you were on the link posted above...
  21. Ok..so I went back and did it again.. 319.9 seriously, is there anyway I could let a lawyer from Georgia equal my score...I don't think so..!!
  22. Ed..long ago before I got my lift I was uptown with the Tiger..thought it would be good to get a lube and oil change with the possibility of undercarriage inspection of the car from down in the pit. Well..as the pit had guard rails around it..my car would not even drive through the bay...so I can still say I have never had one of these places ever service any of my cars. As the Tiger has never been lowered per say, and with the number of cars out there that also sit low..just how in hang do they manage to service the number of cars they did in a given day. The only time my cars go out for service is to the alignment shop or in the case of the bigbutt when I needed an entire front to rear custom exhuast fabricated. I still sing praises about that business...they did the entire job to my exact specifications and for a very reasonable price. I had asked first if they would do it my way and give me an up-front written estimate...they came in a bit under their own estimate.
  23. now you know why they call it a gated community..they don't want these crazies out in the general population...
  24. My first swing..292.9 (lucky hit) about 40 swings later I hit 316..enough is enough...just proves the blind hog theory...
