  1. I need to rephrase that. I mean't the Napa number you gave me under the listing # 861032, which I assume that refers to only my car. All the choices under that mostly show up as obsolete. The Napa number 1035 came up on the Napa computer as a non-existant item. The one Wayne mentioned came up, but was too big for my housing cap by about 1/4 inch in dia. What I was thinking is that maybe the oil filter housing I have may go to another kind of Mopar, but I would think that they would all be the same within a certain era.
  2. Well, guys...went to Napa and had no luck. The gold 1006 O-ring was too big for the canister I have and the other numbers on Todd's chart came up obsolete. These are the dimentions of the o-ring I need: 4.24 OD 3.75 ID I'm not even sure the oil filter canister is the right one for the car, but I remember when I bought it off of Ebay three years ago, they had said it was of my year and make of car.
  3. Thanks, guys! This info is what I need and there is a napa near by, too.
  4. Hey, does anyone know what is the correct size oil filter that goes in our p15s? The filter that I have in there now seems to fit tightly, but the rubber gasket that came with it was too big for the top of the oil filter assembly. So I have been using the older gasket, which is shot and I'm getting leakage. It's time for an oil change anyway, so I want to get the correct size this time and a rubbergasket that fits. Where's the best place to get them, and by chance a part number, if possible. Thanks!
  5. Wow...I'm glad I got mine from Sal when I did. It really makes a difference. Now, knowing that there are no more, I'm going to take good care of this one.
  6. If any one out there has an extra one for sale, that's not banged up, please PM me. I don't care if it's dirty and grimey...that can be cleaned, but the dents are another story. Thanks! Darin
  7. Huh? I don't get it?
  8. James...I was out driving the P15 today and it was about 102. Being that it's dry heat, it didn't bother me much, but like you, I was dying in the car between the heat outside and the heat generated from the motor going into the cab. I managed to keep the car down below 180, but does not stay the coolest in the stop and go traffic. It got to 200 and when I turned the radiator fan, it cooled it down slightly. I just wonder if this was common for these cars back in their heyday.
  9. Mando- I live in Upland and have a '47 Special Deluxe. I just tried to call your cell that you posted, but that number is for a business and they didn't know who you were. BTW...it's not wise to post personal info on public message boards where anyone can see besides the guys here. Just have people contact you via private message or email. Darin
  10. Charlie...I have attended the Arizona Route 66 Fun Run for the past two years and in my opinion, it's okay. I started going to it because I had always wanted to drive an old car on the original U.S. 66. What I also wanted to do is drive among the other original classic cars that I thought would be on there, but what I found were the usual Route 66 stereotyped Corvettes (new and old), souped up and hot rodded '55-57 Chevys, '55-57 T-Birds and even newer cars. Talk about a let down. Also, the muscle cars have made their way to the road, as well. I mean, you really have to search for the stock classics on the fun run. To me, Route 66 has become commercialized and is only represented by Corvettes, Chevys and T-Birds, which can be seen on any flyer or announcement of a Route 66 event. So, instead of getting stuck driving in between a 55-57 hot rod Chevy and a Corvette, I just fall behind the group and cruise the road, taking my time. So what if I miss some cheesy "poodle skirt and leather jacket sock hop," it's the road that is what it's all about. I hope you do make it out next year because we need some more Mopar representation.
  11. OSH sells the matting material more close to the original, but you will have to piece it together.
  12. Bill- I don't know if the business and 2-door ones are the same or not. I know the ones on the sedan wouldn't work because they are probably smaller and not slanted. Does anyone on here know the difference?.
  13. Looking for the front door window garnishes for the P15 Special Deluxe 2-door coupe. If anyone has a spare pair to sell please let me know. If they don't have the air wings in them, that's fine. Thanks, Darin
  14. Man, Dennis, is it already in the 100's up there? We still have it in the high 80's down the hill here, but can feel the humidity. My temp is staying between 160-180...mainly 165, so far. That's a lot better than it was two summers ago.
  15. Ok...well, I got the car back today from the mechanic. He ran a full test on the ignition system and found nothing wrong; that everything tested positive. He said the problem is that since the car cuts out only when in motion, he can't test it because, of course, it's in motion. He said most likely it could be the module, but again, can't be sure because he can only test the car when it's stationary. He gave me the option of getting a new one, but they are about $100 (non-refundable) and, again, he's not sure that that's the problem. I had called Tom at Stovebolt, and he explained what the possible problems could be, but none of those tested positive during the diagnosis. The mechanic told me that all I can do is either replace the module (not knowing if that's the problem or not) or just drive it and wait until it completely cuts out for good...then the problem can surely be diagnosed at that time. The problem is that I don't want that to happen while I'm driving, especially on the freeway. I want to be able to drive with confidence. what do you guys suggest?
  16. Lately, I have been having some problems with my engine cutting out while driving. I have a feeling it's the electronic ignition because when it stalls, I pull over and stop, turn off the ignition and it starts back up. One time I just turned off the ignition while coasting and turned it back on and the engine started to run again. I have the Stovebolt electronic ignition setup on my car. What is this cutting out of the engine telling me about the ignition? Has anyone else had this problem with electronic ignitions before?
  17. I think it's supposed to go into the dash, but I'd really hate to drill a big hole into it.
  18. I had "messed" my E-brake up once before by forgetting to release it and driving off a few times. Hence, the worn e-brake shoe I now have. After that first time, I decided to search for a light to warn me, but wanted to find something close to the period of my car. I found this light on Ebay, and it was a Mopar part. It's big in diameter and it's bright. I haven't had a problem driving off with the e-brake engauged since then.
  19. Ok Guys...I feel like a heel. I just went digging around up under the dash to try to get a picture of the hole, where the socket goes, and as I was moving wires over I saw the socket wrapped around another wire. Needless to say, I put a bulb in it, put it in the hole and now I have ignition key light. Thanks again for responding and willing to help me out. Darin
  20. Looking for a light socket set up for where the key goes into the ignition. I just realized that mine has never had one since I've owned the car. Anyone have a junker that might have one or an extra laying around that you might be interested in selling? Thanks, Darin
  21. Your dad's car sure is beautiful.
  22. Thanks, Bob...I knew you'd pull through. Taking it to be fixed tomorrow.
  23. Nice blue Plymouth. What WAS that yellow thing next to it?
  24. You may recall a few months back I posted a thread regarding some hissing sound coming from my car. I thought it might have been the clutch, and it was a "come and go" kind of sound...never showing up when I was trying to get the mechanic to hear it. Well, over the past couple weeks it has become more common and I noticed that it was a sound that had kind of a squeeking/rubbing sound like metal on metal coming right out from underneath me. The sound seems to slow down when I come to a stop and it also stops, as well. I discovered that it was the e-brake. Yes, it was disengauged, but when I would pull it up a little, the sound would change tone. Also, it also makes kind of a clicking sound as I coast down the alley, like something is loose. I recall the mechanic telling me sometime back that the e-brake was running out of shoe. Has anyone had this happen before or familiar with it?
  25. That's why I am trying to act quick on a trailer. I haven't seen them priced too high on craigslist. I saw a whole bunch out in Arizona just sitting behind buildings and off in fields, but looked like they had been there for a while. Yeah, I think I would get disk brakes as well, but don't you have to get electrical brakes installed on these trailers as well? Which kind of reminds me of this clip from the Long Long Trailer. Of course he was pulling a 50ft trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RpmsZQ3mvI&feature=related
