  1. That's pretty cool. I wouldn't be surprised if Dodge and Plymouth were sponsors in the making of the movie. Looks like somewhere along the California coast. What year did the movie come out?
  2. Here's a pic I found taken in Desert Hot Springs, California in 1946 with a couple of new D24s leading the parade. Man, I wish I could walk through the photo and go back in time...ahh, my wishful thinking.
  3. Thanks, but.....it's Seacrest Green, I tell you...Seacrest Green!!!!
  4. Hope this is what you were looking for. It's a '47 P15 Deluxe dash
  5. Mine are set up this way, as well. Not sure if this was an original option for '47, but nonetheless it looks good.
  6. Well, I guess I may have had the hissing sound mystery solved, but only after having my exhaust leak repaired. A few weeks back, when I first posted this thread, I had taken my car over to Bob Amos to show him and see if he might have known what was causing the strange sound. Bob did notice that there was a major vacumn/exhaust leak coming from in between the intake and exhaust manifold right below the carburator. Took it to my mechanic and told him about the leak and he also noticed the big exhaust leak coming from where the heat riser was. Long story short, had the leak fixed and the the whole plugged up where the heat riser was and now I seem to have better performance, not to mention less bogging down in thrid gear. The hissing sound hasn't shown up, yet. So hopefully that took care of it. Still have a little rough idling, but I guess that could just be a carb adjustment.
  7. Don't like it. Looks like a squashed bug. On some cars chops look good, but not a P15 sedan.
  8. I wouldn't do it. You would regret it, especially in the summer.
  9. Um, Rodney, I think that's way beyond resurection...even trying to make it into a rat rod, which it doesn't look to far from already.
  10. That's so sad to see. Makes me want to go out give mine a whole new wax job.
  11. No, it's just his phone skills and return policies weren't the best.
  12. I looked up the oldmoparts.com and saw that it was Andy's site. I've noticed in the past that the same kind of question, like Countryss', was brought up, but instead of oldmoparts.com, Andy B. was used and a whole onslaught of negative responses followed about their dealings with this gentleman, including myself. Is he getting better?
  13. Ok, guys. I'll print this advice and test her out tomorrow. I wish it was constant so I could pinpoint it better. I'll be back later with the results of what I found out. Thanks, again!
  14. Thought I'd post this to see if I could get some diagnosis on here. For the past month I have had a hissing sound, what I thought was coming from clutch, but turns out to be coming from the overdrive, from what I can tell. It's a "come and go" type of thing that seems to be heard when slowing down in 3rd or 2nd gear. The overdrive seems to be working fine, with the exception of it not engauging right away on occasion. My question is if anyone on here with an overdrive (I have the Borg Warner R-10 model) has had this type of experience with their overdrive and can tell me what that sound my be indicating. I've taken it down to the mechanic, but of course the sound won't show up when I take him around the block...go figure.
  15. Hey Norm...looks like you're livin' the American Dream. I can't wait to make my trip to Prescott this spring. Tell the pooches hi for me. Darin
  16. I did the same thing, but put two of them in. Now, I have a very bright beacon leading my way at night...and people notice.
  17. Yeah, but minimum wage was about 75 cents an hour then, right? Still wasn't too cheap for a wash job in the 50's if you think about it.
  18. Mmmmm...beter there than here. I would figure that he would have taken up refuge in Mexico, since he catered to that country so much.
  19. Well, I'm glad it works for so many of the rest of you, but unfortunately it ruined my tires and I have since stopped using it. BTW...what did they use to clean whitewalls back in the 40's and 50's before that "wonder cleaner" Bleach White came into the picture?
  20. I bought the tires in 2006 for $120/ea. So, I would assume that they are good tires. I forgot to also mention that after I spray a yellow goo appears. Is there something white out there that you can put on the whitewalls to fill in the cracks?
  21. NO!!! Don't use this stuff! I did and now my whitewalls have little cracks all over them. Plus everytime I used it, it would make the white bleed a bit onto the black rubber, and I have expensive Firestones. Use the SOS pads and water.
  22. Ok....great. Just let me know. Coming up dry out here.
  23. ...for a P15 or whatever is compatible. Anyone have any extras to sell? PM me and let me know. Thanks, Darin
  24. Jerry...I don't know if you are going to find much Mopar out there; I never seemed to when I used to go. It mainly caters to the Ford and Chevy crowd, unless you are buying tires...etc. Darin
  25. I've been stopped by a local police officer before, but never questioned about my plates. I don't even put the 2009 sticker on a tab above the plate. I figure if they aren't worried about it, why should I be.
