  1. seen it, I bought a '50 wagon last summer, havent changed a thing...except the fluids. been on several 650 mile road trips, not an issue to speak of. Enjoy, nice wagon.
  2. I'd say to check the linkage connection at the side of the transmission, especially if it feels loose.. I had a '52 Dodge truck & it would come loose periodically & I would have to get the wrenches out & tighten it up, all good for next 250 miles.. Hope that helps

  4. http://www.forwardlook.net/ here is a link to another car forum I tend to hang out at as well. I have a couple '55 Plymouth Belvedere 4 door cars, I get some pretty good feedback over on this forum. I would give them the same question.
  5. sorry bingster, just a joke that popped to mind...listen to yourself say it. "soak it in cider" who knows, it might actually work.
  6. congrats! Having kids is the stuff that makes our lives worth living...and old cars of course.
  7. soak it in cider...
  8. you guys did it to me...I learned it from watching you alright...
  9. took the '55 Belvedere to Leavenwurth WA for the weekend about a year ago.
  10. awesome thread! Thanks for taking us along.
  11. I'm Pretty sure She's a '55
  12. yeah, I have it just sitting complete, not sure what to ever do with it. I suppose I will just hold onto it until something comes up.
  13. awesome ingenuity! Those ideas are simple, effective & wont cost you anything but time! I like it alot!
  14. was wondering if anyone has ever used a 4 speed floor shift tranny to replace a three speed column shift set up? I have a 4 speed from a '52 B2B and I might want to install this into my '50 suburban...Anyone know if this might fit without too many mods? Would the top speed rpm be dropped if this were to be done, like an overdrive? Thanks
  15. 1966 VW Baja Bug with porche engine, dual carbs, stinger exhaust, full roll bar, fiberglass fenders, sunroof...yeah I miss that one!
  16. LIKE....oh, sorry, this isn't facebook... I love it! keep the pictures coming!
  17. Run my own bike shop, specializing in H-D, after 13 years working for H-D dealers I branched out on my own after getting fed up with hearing the boss man complain about the economy, while I watched my service dept turn thru almost 2mil in a single year running only 4 techs! I run the shop, my Dad runs the showroom & now my wife has a ice cream / espresso / lunch cafe in the same location...so I suppose I am self employed now for two years, not planning on turning back anytime soon. www.eaglesinflightllc.com
  18. thanks for the input, never tried that one before...the bolt melting trick.
  19. I recommend SMS fabrics in Oregon. I have purchased the original print & color material for the '55 Peach Belvedere seats from here, yeah I paid for the stuff, the car is worth doing right in my opinion;) http://www.smsautofabrics.com/
  20. I just bolted a couple of motorcycle mirrors on mine.
  21. Seems like you might have been there during some of this? it's all good, I am enjoying it none the less. Yes the floorpan has been poorly patched together, yet it is still holding together. I'm just wanting a good driver level car...I think the front end could use some attention, pretty loose driving...Possibly from the Hollywood ride over the cement wall:eek: I found an engine rebuild tag on the block yesterday from Pacific National Auto Parts, they were in Tacoma, I called and talked with the counter guy, gave him the info from the tag and he was going to check the archives on the engine machining work for me.
  22. Here is the wagon I got this Summer. Not the one I started this thread about, but a different '50. This one is the same color as the '50 Deluxe I have, but with a Birch White lower half & trim..could it be a "spring special?'..don't know if they even offered that with the wagons? Anyhow, here is a picture of my latest & one of the greatest.
  23. Looks Amazing! Love the color, the grill is bad ***! Great work, Enjoy.
