  1. We went and picked the old car up today. We coulnd't secure a car trailer anywhere close by so I wound up driving the old girl home, approx 133 mile road trip. Today we went thru some sun breaks, a lot of rain, and even found some hail but the old Plymouth powered thru it all without the slightest hesitation. The odometer only shows 28456 miles, smooth ride, not sure if it has 28k or 128?? either way is fine with me, the only real cancer is in the rear drivers side floor, everything else is only surface. So here comes the next project for me and Dad to work on. We will call this one his for now.
  2. Here is a decent shot of a cap from a '55 Dodge Desoto
  3. There is a complete running twin to yours for $600.00 in Washington state. Check out "skagit craigslist" hit the cars link, type in 1946 and you will see the car. I wish I had more ambition I would pick it up and do what you are doing now. Good luck, Cream should look real nice.
  4. Three of these are from a '55 Belvedere. The odd collection of other caps are ones me and the 'lil wife found in our woods behind our house, they are still out there perched upon an old sawmill.
  5. I was told the front seat could use re-upholstered, The price I can come away at is $2000 I think this is a good deal? Classic cars are all different I know depending on care over the years and garage time spent.
  6. I know the drivers rear has a hole in the floor, I was told that was it. Here is a pic of that and a couple others. Thanks, the opinions really do matter to me. From Washington state.
  7. Check out this "50 Deluxe, I am thinking about picking this one up tomorrow morning. Let me know what you all think. Pretty clean original car.
  8. There is a '55 Belveder in CO. with power everything for around $900.00 I think. Search the web for "1955 Belvedere" and you should see it Not sure how bad you want this stuff, the car is said to have power steering, power seat, power windows, I guess all the factory options of that year.
  9. I know of a company in Paducah, KY called Browns Chrome and they do alot of mototrcycle parts chroming for Harleys. They do a fantastic job, show chrome, and they don't normally charge an arm and a leg. Not sure if they will take on car parts or not? Give them a call. Web page : http://brownsplating.com/index.php
  10. Hope this helps. If you need some more specific shots or some close up of any one item let me know and I will get it for you. Good luck.
  11. Looks like you might need the entire column, judging by what I see on mine, you may need the entire steering column. I sure hope the pics I took will help, It's kind of hard to get a angle with complete shot of the system.
  12. I have a '55 Belvedere with power steering, not sure if it is same or not I will also get you some pics of mine in about an hour or so.
  13. Here are some more pics of the old Peach. Hope you enjoy. Anyone else out there have a '55 Belvedere?
  14. Thanks for all the opinions, I was only considering the flat black job figuring I did not want to tie up a ton of money into the second car. It was purchased with the original intent on "parts car", yet the more I look at the old girl it appears to me it is surprisingly complete and solid. so why not get it running and have a cheap "rainy day ride" without doing a full resto. Trust me, I am an original equipment is better than modified guy. The Peach will remain true to its originality, the thing is spotless and driveable. Just not sure what to do with the Blue one without spending a ton and needing to search for original color match parts. Thanks guys, keep a cool tool.
  15. Yes, she has the Powerflite tranny, surprisingly smooth thru the power range. Too cool. I have attatched some pics of another "Miami Blue" I am considering a Flat Black "Rat Rod" project for the blue one. I have gone Belvedere crazy!
  16. This is my '55 Plymouth Belvedere, this one's a Peach, I have more pics and they are too large for the post. Here are a couple to get started with, Enjoy. Thanks for looking
  17. The red is on the valve covers only. This is on the 241 ci. Thanks for all the input. Rob
  18. I get it now, sorry I was having a not so bright moment earlier. I was not counting the digits in my block numbers. I am sure having alot of fun working on the old mopar, this has been something I have wanted to do my whole life. Today I sanded some surface rust from the trunk compartment and coated with rust-oleum primer getting ready to rubber coat after it all cures for a few days. Thanks again for the help. Rob in Washington
  19. Thanks Tim, I could not find any information in my service manual stating this info. I am guessing this is from the engine serial #? one is p27-153728 the other is p27-55615 so I am still a little confused.
  20. I currently own two 1955 p-27 Plymouth Belvedere cars. I was wondering if there was any simple way to tell if they are running the 241 or the 260 ci engines. One of the cars is said to have the 241 it has red rocker covers, could be painted red afterwards? The other I don't know what it is supposed to have, it has silver/grey rocker covers? any input would be helpfull. both cars are complete, one is a driver and really clean condition the other has been sitting for a few years and I am getting ready to try to breathe life into it. Thanks, Rob in Washington
