  1. I have the Carter electric FP on my 52 Cranbrook, after 3500 miles this summer, no issues w/o a regulator.
  2. I went with the Bill Howard 6v pos ground alternator, very happy with it.
  3. Installed the seal yesterday, will see what happens this spring when it comes out of hibernation.
  4. Sniper, thanks again for the info. My local Napa shows the seal in stock, I will go tomorrow to verify.
  5. Just found the seal on Napa #BK6601000 $9.99 will pick it up Mon. and give it a try. Better than $450 for one on ebay!!!!!
  6. Sniper, I have seen that kit before, but now that the seal is out the specs are: diameter=1.100", thickness=.135", hole diameter=.150". Thanks for trying.
  7. Had a leak from my water valve this fall, by-passed it, now I have it out and apart. Does anyone have a source for the seal? Thanks.
  8. AAR Cuda or T/A Challenger. Getting real fond of the 340 Duster/Demon also.(I turned 16 in 1970, the only yr. for the AAR and T/A).
  9. Don't mind the snow and ice, it's the damn salt they saturate the roads with that upsets me.
  10. I "eyeballed" my point gap and timing one time after a break down on the road, car ran but wasn't happy. With dwell set at 38 degrees and timing at 6 degrees, runs great. I attempted to set dwell while cranking engine, more accurate if dwell is read while engine is running.
  11. I installed a new disc and throw out bearing, resurfaced flywheel, reused pressure plate(I'm cheap). With proper free play adjustment, clutch engages near top., been that way for 3k miles, no issues. 52 Cranbrook
  12. OK so I lied, supposed to be upper 60's later in the week into the weekend. Going to hold off putting the Cranbrook away. Put a little over 3k miles on it this summer. This is after a trip to get apples and cider on Sat. Hopefully someone can rotate picture!!!
  13. Supposed to be 48 and sunny this afternoon, plan on getting the Cranbrook out for one last ride to get apples and cider.
  14. I second the flasher unit as Loren mentioned.
  15. 6v positive ground alt from Bill Howard Enterprises is a must.
  16. Had a great tour with the Troy Town Cruisers on Oct. 17 through hills of Pa. Can't wait for the WG event this coming summer.
  17. I am using 15-40 non-synthetic diesel oil and still have a leak with new rope seal.

    Tour

Thanks, but the car is a 40 footer, drives and runs great, needs lots of cosmetic work. This was my first tour and it was great.

    Tour

Had a great time Sat. touring the hills of Pa. with the Troy Town Cruisers.
  22. Rich, I find my Cranbrook runs best w/ dwell at 36 degrees(checked with engine running) and timing set at 6 degrees. I tried to "eyeball" the settings after a breakdown on the road, it ran but wasn't happy. As a reference: turning the breaker pt. adjustment counter clockwise lowers the dwell reading, turning dist. clockwise, retards the timing. Been a long time since I have dealt w/ pts>!!!!

    Alternator

I second what Sam said, very pleased with my 6v pos ground alt from Bill Howard.
  24. Break tire bead. It is a bumper jack from a 68 Chevy, works great to lift my zero turn for blade service also. The bottom plate is welded to the jack shaft.
  25. I still do, but I use the trailer hitch on my Nissan Frontier.
