It was in the upper thirties today in Massachusetts. Sunny, dry roads, no snow or salt. My wife and I took the Dodge for a mid winter ride. The ground is entirely bare as it has been in the 50's since before Christmas, but still I wanted to have some snow i my photo. The only snow we could afind was on the "bunny slope" at the Wachusett mountain ski area. The car ran great and we put 35 miles on it in mid winter.5 points

I had to wait for parts to come in, but it was officially the rotor shorting to the shaft. I couldn't visually see anything wrong with it, but it fired right up once I switched them out. I'm not sure I would have ever thought to check that without the help of this forum, so thanks yet again! This is the first time the car has stranded me, but I definitely learned a lot about the ignition system because of it.3 points

Hi Folkz! glad i found a dedicated forum for my newly acquired '51! it's been chopped and restored a good 20 years ago, sold, and then forgotten about for about 10 years ... last time it ran was 5 years ago, but she started up first try! underneath, everything was maintained pretty well. the windows unfortunately got lost, and the interior was ripped out. i was told the engine got a complete overhaul back in the days, and she sure sounds like she did. first thing will be to change all the fluids, open and check the brakes, and then try to get 'r some plates before summer. fresh paint and chrome will have to wait a bit, i'll run 'r with that "fresh out of the barn look"for a while. apparently she was cammed as well so curious to see how much ass she can haul2 points

This is my third attempt at retirement. I think this one will stick after presenting facts to management that they didn't want to hear.? I may do an old guy part time job but only if it doesn't involve airports and hotel stays. As for cold weather riding, it's not bad with the right gear and heated grips.2 points

Makes me shiver just thinking about going out much less creating my own wind chill at speed.....been a long time since I took a motorcycle out on anything but nice clear day. My hat's off to you....enjoy your retirement.....approaching year 12 and loving it...!1 point

i live in Europe so it would cost me an arm and a leg to have those shipped also i would have to cut them, and would indeed be very difficult! instead i'm just gonna go to a local glass-shop and have some layered glass waterjetted into the correct shape. the rear window came of a (i believe) '49 Chevy Styleline, but for now i'm gonna use Lexane untill i find a shop in the US that's willing to send one over to Europe...1 point

I wish I could comment further on the steering and the manner it was installed, I bought this project and for sure it has been the quintessential evidence of why never to buy someone else's work in progress and I have not nor never will consider a started or finished car by others. While I have reworked every aspect of the build, firewall, steering column, cooling system, exhaust, brakes, driveshaft phasing engine and rear axle, body welded/finish instead of rust holes packed with bondo....this segment of the car as purchased seems to be the only professional done segment and it was my understanding the only thing the builder farmed out and appears to be the Caviler tie rods. This car was a total misrepresentation by the seller even when direct questions were asked with the only concern to rework questionable area NOT HAVING to discover the shoddy workmanship, sad day. The car is sitting covered, all work done save topcoat paint, for the eventual day when my total disgust will allow me to find the love to finish the car. I was ready to crush it with the discovery of the last big surprise. But dang, you got to love the body style of the 41 dodge bz cpe.1 point

The B3B is the primary project for me this year. It's been in my half of the garage for about 3 or 4 months now and some work has been done in that time period. As near as I can tell, it's been about 40 years since I first acquired it and started working on it. It's had work started and stopped several times as life has changed priorities but it's time for it to be focused on. Other projects around the house will still need to be fit in. I just completed the refinishing of a glider rocker last night. Deck needs replacing and wife has been talking about changing the interior decor. The Mach I is 98% complete and is put away for the winter and a couple of other automotive projects will likely get some time spent on them as well.1 point

I reinstalled my springs and then pulled the motor for some upgrades this past Saturday. So I snapped a few pics with the motor out. You can see how the tie rods follow the angles of the lower control arms. The next project is getting the steering shaft connected to the column via some double “d” shaft and another u-joint. Gonna try to keep the original shaft and steering wheel up top along with the “3 on the tree” shifter to work the turbo 350. So that’s going to be a whole other project.1 point
