I'm glad everyone made it home okay. Our 130 mile trip home was uneventful. The engine stayed cool and the carburetor behaved. Hope to see everyone again next year. JohnS

Friday at the tailgate we had a visit from HAMB member Denise (Hotrodladycruiser) in her neat Olds convertible. The Olds group was in town doing their thing at another hotel. She came by meet the group and recommeded the BBQ joint.

Lee it could be that one too. I believe it is outside Milwaukee which ever city its in! Also its the same weekend as back to the 50s so the MN guys will have to choose.....

Oconomowoc is just west of the Milwaukee metro area and about 15 miles from me. Where and when is it gonna be in Oconomowoc? I'd definetly make time to be there. You might even get Norm to bring his Coupe out there too.

Contrary to what many thnk the POC does accept modifications, your car just won't score high if it has a lot of changes to (if scoring is your thing, you just needed to stay in the lobby until ther urchins came back after 2:00)I get along with Earl B Jr. the technical director, very well. He has told me numerous times your car looks and sounds great. The approach I have taken, is, each has their opnion. When they commented about the changes I made to my 49, I asked would it be better off crushed? Earles answer NO. The POC believes in preservation of the brand. I believe in preservation of the brand, with a few modifications. As a judge, (I am sure Ed saw similiar things) you would be surprised what you see and find on thier cars. Woody from Detroit Region (Show contact) has a 318 in his 54, Bob Kerico POC President has split exhaust on his 51, Bob Mitchell tech director of newer cars, glass pack mufflers on his 58. Carlon, who's 34 recieved best of show, makes adpaters for overdirve transimission, and after the show will put it back in his car so he can drive it. They had their cars judged and guess what they had points taken off for these changes. Greg & Don can confrim, our three cars catch a lot of attention and a ton of questions as to how we made the modifications we did, and how do the cars run now. Our Anwer GREAT! I let several POC dyed in the wool guys drive my 49, and all were very impressed. Actually how we caught several others attention is when Greg and I left the Chrysler Musuem ( one came up to me later and said, you and your car aren't normal) I told him I was normal , my car not quite normal and Greg abnormal. Bottom line EVERYONE SHOULD JOIN THEIR LOCAL POC Chapter, and join us in the parking lot next September in Maryland. We need to help preserve the Brand! The Iron Chef

I'd love to join in if I could..... the next few weeks could be interesting... my comparative evaluation should be comin in this week so I'll know if I'll be heading to val d'or (my local home town) or to the Ottawa region (just passed another phone interview this morning), which would put me in the region.... with clients in the northeast US..... so it could be interesting.... finally hobnobbin in person with members here....
