greg g Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 Today in the mail we got a evelope from the IRS. We thought it was our stimulus check, BUT NOOOOOOOO!!!! it was a letter telling us our check should arrive next week. Like perhaps we hadn't heard about the program, just came out from under a rock, or maybe landed from outer space. I just wonder what group of geniuses figured out we needed to be reminded that the check was coming, whaddya think were gonna do return it or throw it out. If they thought that a lot of people throw away stuff from the IRS and might throw away the check, WHY DID THEY SEND IT IN AND IRS ENVELOPE?????? IDIOTS!!!!!! I want the choice of NONE OF THE ABOVE on the next ballot......... Quote
Merle Coggins Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 I got one of those over a month ago. I also got another one shortly after my Stimulous check appeared in my account via direct deposit. That's our wonderful govenment at work. I wonder how much it cost them to send out the letters to let you know that they'd be sending you a check. Quote
Don Coatney Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 Greg; I got the same stupid note last week. They said the check would arrive by 6-6-08. No check yet. But it also said that if the check does not arrive in six weeks to contact them. I checked with my work partner today and he already got his. He has direct deposit. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 I got one letter long ago and one check today.... Quote

Phil Martin Posted June 9, 2008 Report Posted June 9, 2008 My number is 04 and I haven't seen a letter or check. But the web sight does say I will get $600. $300 each because I'm retired. I guess retired people don't need money. WRONG Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 Hey, I got two letters...where is my stinking check:mad: No matter my wife will spend it and then tell me what she bought:( I'll just say "Oh wow, that's nice dear" That really looks nice on you. Now take it off so I can wear it! Then I can go to my trailer down by the river:cool: Quote
greg g Posted June 10, 2008 Author Report Posted June 10, 2008 you probably don;t want any of our devalued stuff any way. Quote
PatS.... Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 Were kinda insulated from much of the bad for the time being but it's gonna hit the fan here soon, I can just feel it. Your falling dollar caused ours to rise to par, making our formerly cheaper export items very expensive, so dropping demand for them. Rising oil prices make our oil worth more so more money for gov't but NONE sees it's way to the slob on the ground trying to get by. It's all so artificial and phoney-baloney it makes me ill. Quote
greg g Posted June 10, 2008 Author Report Posted June 10, 2008 perhaps we should buy some forever stamps....... Quote
bobby horne Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 What can we spend the $300 on to help the USA? I bought a "PLYMOUTH" t-shirt, but it was made in Honduras..The only thing I have found so far not made in China....maybe some bad tomatoes from Mexico......... Quote
hkestes41 Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Pat' date='I guess the people in Europe and Japan are also worried about the falling dollar affecting them too. Just read an article about that in last weeks Newsweek. But while it's making other countries products more expensive, its also making US made products cheaper for other countries to import. So........that is helping us a little. Same thing happened sometime ago with Japan's economy. It finally equaled out though, just as ours will sometime soon. Probably sometime within the next year regardless of who gets elected President this year. Maybe even before the elections.[/quote'] Tell me about it. I am a Regional Sales Mgr for a Japanese electronic connector company. We have seen the Yen per dollar drop from an average of 117 last year to 100 this year. That means a 17% reduction in profits for the US subsidiary, a 17% price increase for the customer (yeah try explaining that to a buyer) or what we have done so far which is to share the love so to speak and divide the 17% between lost profits and price increases. knighthawk Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 try this one ! I got the the letters, before and after, the check came, was to be for $1200, ( for the both of us ).... We had to pay in $700 this year, so they deducted 700 from the 1200, they already had cashed my check for 700, lost it , then found it , now they don't know how to give me back the 700 they deducted, so....it's in the ''dead letter'' file until they they 'figure it out' !!!!!!!! greg g Posted June 11, 2008 Author Report Posted June 11, 2008 Well lets see there is a Budweiser Brewery in Baldwinsville, about 6 miles away, there is Middle Ages Brewery makers of Syracuse Pale Ale (don't call it spa beer) and Swallow Whit and Grail Ale. There the Empire Brewing company brew pub downtown, The Syracuse Suds Factory. There is the Saranca Brewery also know as the former Utica Club brewery. There is the former Genesee Brewery in Rochester now the High Falls Brewing Company makers of Dundee's Nut Brown, and O'Shea's Irish Ale. The Sackets Harbor Brewing Co. makers of the 1812 line of brewed products. There are a couple breweries in Cooperstown. We can discuss the Street hostesses at a later time. Quote
