milo9rat Posted February 11, 2020 Report Posted February 11, 2020 Made some progress by installing Ford ranger rear end, drive shaft, muffler system, partial wiring, and the engine and trans.. I know the die hard Mopar guys will be upset on my engine choice but Im not building it for them.. If this offends the moderators, please remove thread.. I also have pics of the engine install and frame modifications if anyone is interested... 4 Quote

milo9rat Posted February 11, 2020 Author Report Posted February 11, 2020 Car is a 26,000 mile barn find.. Not a die hard Mopar fan, however I do like early Mopars 30's thru 50s.. I couldn't pass this one up with such low mileage.. As most of you already know it's a sbc(sorry).. I'm keeping the original steering and suspension, just cutting the coils a little to lower the front... Quote
milo9rat Posted February 11, 2020 Author Report Posted February 11, 2020 It still has the original dealer installed seat covers... Quote
casper50 Posted February 11, 2020 Report Posted February 11, 2020 Must have been out of blue seat covers the day they installed them. lol Nice car. 1 Quote

casper50 Posted February 11, 2020 Report Posted February 11, 2020 I don't remember ever seeing this year/model when growing up. I can remember lots of 50 and 51's and 56 to 59's. Quote

Cheap and readily available, they'll bring the front down an inch or two, and give you a firmer ride. 1 Quote
derbydad276 Posted February 13, 2020 Report Posted February 13, 2020 ok... what drivers side exhaust manifold is that ? what motor mount did you use ... trans? MORE PICTURES !!!!!!! 1 Quote
milo9rat Posted February 13, 2020 Author Report Posted February 13, 2020 (edited) Both exhaust manifolds are 1955/56 265 Chevy.. I made a crossover pipe for a single exhaust.. Motor mounts are Trans Dapt Performance 4100 for mounting a sbc into a Jeep.. Here are a couple pics.... Edited February 13, 2020 by milo9rat Quote
milo9rat Posted February 13, 2020 Author Report Posted February 13, 2020 I also notch front crossmember for damper and fuel pump... Quote
milo9rat Posted February 13, 2020 Author Report Posted February 13, 2020 (edited) Good clearance for stock steering box and to run crossover pipe in front of box... Edited February 13, 2020 by milo9rat Quote
milo9rat Posted February 13, 2020 Author Report Posted February 13, 2020 (edited) I just made a straight box tubing trans mount.. No pics.. The good thing about the motor mounts are the engine mount part has 4 holes that can be trim to what you need.. I offset the engine about 3/4 inch to passenger side... mrwrstory Posted February 15, 2020 Report Posted February 15, 2020 Absolutely love it! You'll have some Mopar "experts" scratching their heads and others a bit more focused, absolutely irritated at the violation of the car if not the valve covers. Please show us more. 1 Quote
milo9rat Posted February 15, 2020 Author Report Posted February 15, 2020 Thanks mrwrstory.. Don't have much more to show except how nice the interior is on this 26,000 mile coupe.. I did find a 54 automatic column indicator for my 3 spd column.. The paint isn't even wore off the steering wheel.... Quote
