RedHot71 Posted September 29, 2019 Report Posted September 29, 2019 Wife is making new seat covers for my 1951 Dodge truck. Some of the clips that held the original leather to the metal frame are stretched and do not hold the new material properly. Looking for a place to source them if anyone out there has experienced the same problem. Thanks in Advance for responses. Quote
Los_Control Posted September 29, 2019 Report Posted September 29, 2019 are you referring to hog rings? If so you can find them at Lowes, home depot tractor supply etc... Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 29, 2019 Report Posted September 29, 2019 you will also need the pliers for these to effectively place them..just be aware some of the modern pliers are a bit on the 'light' side of built... Quote
RedHot71 Posted September 29, 2019 Author Report Posted September 29, 2019 No. These are actually like c-clips that snap onto the bottom of the seat frame. Pinches the metal frame and upholstery together. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 29, 2019 Report Posted September 29, 2019 then maybe you need to see your local trimmer to find just what style fastener is used and where to obtain.....all I am familiar with is hog rings and some plier will set these at a triangle shape and other are more round when completed.... Plymouthy Adams Posted September 29, 2019 Report Posted September 29, 2019 the only other clip I am familiar with are the bands used primary to repair the springs and are actually bands and not so much a clip...perhaps a picture would allow someone to put you spot on....modern covers often have stitched on retainer with slot that is stretched over the seat lower frame and fastens in this manner.....but for sure, a picture will get you closer faster Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted September 29, 2019 Report Posted September 29, 2019 These are what I use..... 1 Quote

Merle Coggins Posted September 29, 2019 Report Posted September 29, 2019 I probably still have a box full of them somewhere. The smallest box you can purchase is 500 pieces. You won’t need anywhere near that many. Quote
RedHot71 Posted September 29, 2019 Author Report Posted September 29, 2019 I found those also. clipsandfasteners.com? (500) for something like $28.95? I just was not sure of the opening. Quote
