i know it's not jumping out of a plane but, Julie took me to a "glass blowing" workshop yesterday for a recent "mile stone" b-day present i had.glass float.jpg

what a blast and how addicting, we made a couple of glass floats for our pond, if it ever thaws again :D

while I got to say the closest I come to glass blowing was in the science lab at school.  I have visited the Blinko Glass Co. a few times in my life and watched the skilled artist at work...I have to say that the tour back of the place where the broken fragments all sorted by color with the sun making them sparkle was a tad more "sparkly"  cobalt blue is most appealing

PA, get out of my head! :) I picked cobalt and white for my float. We will pick them up this next week

That is a really neat birthday present, and you get to see your handiwork bobbing in the pond to boot.  The Corning Glass Works in Corning, NY is a fascinating visit if anyone ever gets the chance.  They have glass blowers that will make something to your (or your kids') order, as well as a place to "blow your own."  They have a Museum of Glass, too.

parking lamp lenses? what a great idea.. :) believe you me, I have been looking at carbon.... wanted to make a "dangly" marble, granite gray and white to hang from the rearview of my b3b
