Returned from a car show, no lights, blown fuse.   checked it a little later, replaced the fuse no visible wear spots works fine.  Drive it blows a fuse. removed the headlight switch put in a fuse turn on the just the headlights  the whole unit gets hot blows a fuse.  Where should I start to look?

as you stated headlight (switch all the way out) and not just parking...the wire goes from the switch to the dimmer switch tot he terminal blocks near the radiator...you did not specify if you elected to switch the dimmer in your efforts to isolate the circuit between high beam and low beam..use you schematic...also go to a RV store and get a nice circuit breaker and ditch the fuse

When my car was doing this the wires had moved and I had a short every time I pushed the clutch in. The pedal was hitting when pressed.

I think we just had a thread on this.  Any chance you brake light is staying on?  This will sometimes heat the fuse to blowing.  The other thing to do is disconnect the wires at the switch till you are sure which circuit is causing the failure then trace out the wires till you find the fault.

I always recommend  repowering the brake light switch ( didn't you just have a problem there) through a dedicated fused wire fromthe bat side of the solenoid.  This takes a lot of load off the headlamp switch.

You mention problem when driving. You should be able to park the car with lights on and blow the fuse. If this does not happen while parked, then try shaking wires while parked to get the short to occur. If the short happens as soon as the lights are turned on, then isolating one circuit at a time will eventually locate the problem area.

Discovered the switch is bad.  One of the connectors is loose internally.  Able to wire the brake lights thru a dedicated line.  Anyone  have or know where I can get a head light switch for a P15?

I just got one for my Sprite from NAPA.  It has the parking light off with headlamps position.  Has the integral fuse.  Put it in with the plymouth hardware and swap the knob over.
