Tom Hartman Posted July 16, 2015 Report Posted July 16, 2015 What seat will fit in a 47plymouth business coupe? Don't have any, pervious owner got rid of stock seat along with a lot of other things. Thanks Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted July 16, 2015 Report Posted July 16, 2015 I don't know what seat to suggest.........but I bet Tim Adams has some suggestions as he has "customized" some old Mopars.......... Quote
greg g Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 Dunno, do you want a bench, buckets, split bench, racing seats, cloth, leather, vinyl. Guess I would start by measuring themaximum width that will fit and take a trip to the recycling yard. Maybe something form a Chevy might fit. Quote
1941Rick Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 To bad you did not live on the west coast...I have a split bench from a 41 B/Coupe....like new 1 Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 this same subject is an open thread on the forum current to just these past few days.. Quote
Tom Hartman Posted July 17, 2015 Author Report Posted July 17, 2015 Would prefer split back bench...don't know anything about threads Mr Adams if you mean cloth seats that would work fine Quote
pflaming Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 "MR, ADAMS"!!, poster must be a new one to the forum!!! LOL Quote
Don Coatney Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 Hint....There are currently 26,880 threads in this P-15 forum. Quote
wdoland Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 Why is it such an issue when someone asks a question that's been answered in the past? I would imagine every topic has been discussed before. Some have no problem rehashing things, it's called conversation. 4 Quote
Tom Hartman Posted July 17, 2015 Author Report Posted July 17, 2015 Sorry for being a new guy, just been on here short time. Don't know all the jargon.I'm almost 71 and trying to save a 47plymouth business coupe. Previous owner was going to cut it up for scrap. What is a "thread" anyway? Quote
Don Coatney Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 A thread is a topic with responses. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 Your initial message with all of the corresponding replies is called a thread. Every time someone starts a new topic it creates a new thread. These topics and threads can be searched using the "Search" box at the top of the page. Merle Quote
casper50 Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 I agree with you wdoland. If they don't wish to respond or read it opt out and don't open it. Quote

_shel_ny Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 The responses do get old don't they. At a minimum, providing a link to a previous thread, or two might be helpful There was a very good one back a couple of years. Not sure how far back the search will go. Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 (edited) I said what I did because the very poster had asked the question on another thread....and he got an in depth answer....as it went evidently unchecked by himself and or failed to acknowledge the answers he got from about three members..I though it best to not reply there and deleted my entry so not to confuse everyone and let this thread answer his question over the course of time. _shel_ny Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 (edited) got a link to that thread? No, but it was very helpful. Had some pics of what was done to fabricate the base to support the donor seat. Search here can be less than friendly. Either too much shows up, or not enough. I apparently missed the OP's earlier question/answers (thread). In fact, I do not even know where it is now If it piggy backed on some other thread, I likely missed it because of that. Tom Hartman Posted July 17, 2015 Author Report Posted July 17, 2015 Wow ...thought someone might have a seat idea or pictures. Didn't mean to cause a flap Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 yes Sel, t'was a piggy back but a question nonetheless and one asked by this very same user..so to not cause confusion and again not to call for the man or anyone to use the search engine..as many here think that card is overplayed, I decided that the answer should be here on the actual thread and not a piggy back so I deleted my post on the piggy back and only answered his direct question over there with a simple yes and not a narrative on how to measure for the proper seat or what other hardware or metal you would need from you donor of choice...I have noticed a great number of the folk who do not like the "search option reply" neither reply with aide or post any link and speak negative of any man who try to point the guy to the search option as it truly is your friend..I am able to got to about any subject and in a manner of sort order, usually a minute or so can find any post I need...GTK went to great length when I pointed out early on with this latest version of software that you got only 120 replies or 30 days max data depending on the key word, after a few upgrades/mods it now includes the entire database...to that I am truly thankful to GTK as it extends the forum to everyone at a few keystroke most pertinent information Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 Wow ...thought someone might have a seat idea or pictures. Didn't mean to cause a flap you got your reply in a good narrative of how to select and install and where to look...you either discounted it or forget you posted that question...a few people replied to your inquiry on the other post... Don Coatney Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 Many folks do not like it when I suggest that all questions on a project be kept in one thread but by doing so it makes searching much easier and all responses can be found in one location. And the project once completed has closure. Quote
_shel_ny Posted July 17, 2015 Report Posted July 17, 2015 This may be the one I was thinking of.
