Plymouthy Adams Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 this has been discussed on other forums last month and I cannot believe the very comments that are made...the question remains and is the ultimate point ..who is the owner...as much as I hate to see change..what do you expect?.... Frank Elder Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 Who really cares......It isn't enough to get my knickers in a twist...all the brand names remain the same, I mean it's time to face the facts Chrysler has been on the skids since the 80's. All that remains is Fiat and they sure have the right to name their own product. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 Chrysler had little if any leadership for a long time...it was under foreign control before it fell to Daimler as it was and lost a lot of clout when forced to sell off it foreign assets...people asked me years ago what I would do..I said you the folks with the problem..I already have my Mopars...I will just keep them... The cars built today have become so homogenized that there is very little brand identification by sight. They all look and act the same. The days of unique brand identification are long gone and most likely will never return. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 Actually Fiat has taken the truck to the name RAM and the Dodge line up is slated to lose the Caravan I understand and the direction of the Dodge line/name is pure street performance...anyway, that is the rumor mill and it will be sit back and watch I would guess...I would think the Caravan will come up the Chrysler heading like the Plymouth Voyager did...they got to have a low price van..not everyone is going to shell out for a T&C and to think that is pure folly and step to disaster Quote
T120 Posted December 18, 2014 Report Posted December 18, 2014 While I am not standing with my back to the future, neither am I embracing it.The older cars I own are for the most part stock and when I drive them theyperform much as they did back in the day when new and I enjoy the experience.Fortunately I live in a rural area and am able cruise scenic secondary roadscomfortably at 55-60 mph.I like older cars.Brand names, years, and models I am familiar with from my youth are dated.I can't identify newer vehicles at a glance on the road today.Basically,I agree with previous posters, name change doesn't mean a lot to me.In conclusion, I will admit to owning a couple of newer 4 wheel vehicles as well as a couple ofmotorcycles that are no slouch in today's traffic.
