Mark D Posted May 2, 2014 Report Posted May 2, 2014 Wish I had a few more weeks of vacation to use up. Love to do this trip some day Quote
greg g Posted May 30, 2014 Author Report Posted May 30, 2014 Just trying to get a head count of folks who have not already responded yet. Just about ready to make reservations at the host hotel. Keep in mind that you don t really need to have a car there to have a good time, I m sre shotgun positions will be avaiable. Quote
LAKOTA169 Posted June 1, 2014 Report Posted June 1, 2014 One of the scheduled events is a tour to 2 car collections. One of the collections includes Tucker #015. Quote
LAKOTA169 Posted June 4, 2014 Report Posted June 4, 2014 If you are planning on coming to the meet, it would be a good idea to get your room now at the special rate. They are starting to fill up. Quote
greg g Posted June 11, 2014 Author Report Posted June 11, 2014 Just sniped the last room in the POC block for the Pt. Huron meet. They don't mention an alternative. Maybe Mr. Ungermann will chime in with some suggestions. 1 Quote
Don Coatney Posted June 11, 2014 Report Posted June 11, 2014 I just booked a room at the Marriott 1635 Yeager Street · Port Huron, MI about 2.5 miles from the host Hotel. Plan to arrive Friday August 22 and return home Sunday August 24. 1 Quote
Wry Whiskey Posted June 12, 2014 Report Posted June 12, 2014 Just starting my education. Will make the car show for sure. Quote
MarkAubuchon Posted June 12, 2014 Report Posted June 12, 2014 Greg, I'm in. Plan to drive my 49, extra trunk space will allow for extra local adult beverages to share in the parking lot. Probably leaving St. Louis the Saturday before, stay in Detroit play golf, then off to the Maritime museum arrive Wednesday at the event. 1 Quote
LAKOTA169 Posted June 12, 2014 Report Posted June 12, 2014 Greg, I emailed our President (region) and Treasurer (he lives in area). Russ is out of town. Will try to find an answer. Ed Quote
Dan Hiebert Posted June 13, 2014 Report Posted June 13, 2014 Just sniped the last room in the POC block for the Pt. Huron meet. They don't mention an alternative. Maybe Mr. Ungermann will chime in with some suggestions. I lived in Port Huron for 5 yrs (that's were my avatar picture was taken). All of the hotels in Port Huron are relatively close to the venues. Marysville, too. After that, everything is about 30 miles out. I'll be staying at my son's place in Ft. Gratiot. Quote
greg g Posted June 13, 2014 Author Report Posted June 13, 2014 Dan what are your travel plans? We were planning to leave Syr early Thurs AM. Quote
LAKOTA169 Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 Just a note to anyone planning to come early. The weekend (Saturday) before our meet is the Woodward Dream Cruise. Sixteen miles of 8 lane road (4 lanes northbound and 4 lanes southbound) of almost any kind of vehicle you can think of. Cars actually start showing up on Woodward a couple of weeks before. If you've never seen it before, it's something to see. Do a search for Woodward Dream Cruise. This will be the 20th year of the cruise. Quote
DonaldSmith Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 I live 3 blocks from Woodward, right in the middle of the Dream Cruise. Stop by. Let me know you are coming. (The best time to see the Dream Cruise is the weekend before.) Quote
greg g Posted June 14, 2014 Author Report Posted June 14, 2014 Don will you be hanging out at the POC event? We are working on details of our counter culture Friday PM tailgate get together. Would like to have you come by. Bring a favorite adult beverage, and maybe a dish to pass. We figure any where from 10 to 20 or so folks. Quote
DonaldSmith Posted June 14, 2014 Report Posted June 14, 2014 Who me? Lemme play it by ear. The 24th is my birthday. Port Huron should be a short hop, after getting to Fort Wayne (and back) for the DeSoto convention. Not as short a hop as the Dream Cruise. Stay tuned. Quote
MarkAubuchon Posted June 15, 2014 Report Posted June 15, 2014 Greg, the election is official and you are In charge of the "outlaws" Friday night party !!!!! I am expecting your famous salted taters, white sausage. We should check and see if the hotel has a grillwe can borrow. Quote
greg g Posted June 16, 2014 Author Report Posted June 16, 2014 what are you bringing??? I still got sauce stains from the Maryland "hippie picnic". Quote
MarkAubuchon Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 Not sure, we need to see what works. I wonder if the hotel has a grill set up like they had in St. Johnsbury, that would be great. Start thinking about it, lets see how many people are going to attend. Quote
greg g Posted June 16, 2014 Author Report Posted June 16, 2014 Called hotel nix on the grille, now they are not even sure we can cook in the parking lot. Probably should have operated under the easier to seek forgiveness rather than get permission.............. Oh well, maybe well be reduced to Micky Dee's and adult beverages................ Quote
Don Coatney Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 I just called the Marriott where I have booked a room. They do have a grill available on the patio near the pool. Fairfield Inn Port Huron 1635 Yeager Street Port Huron Michigan 48060 Quote
greg g Posted June 16, 2014 Author Report Posted June 16, 2014 Party at Don's................................ Quote
Don Coatney Posted June 16, 2014 Report Posted June 16, 2014 Not sure what the host hotel rates are but rooms at the Marriott can be had for $84.00 Quote
JohnS48plm Posted June 17, 2014 Report Posted June 17, 2014 I got a room at the host hotel today, they must have had cancelations. Friday they said there were no rooms available at the Plymouth Club rate. Quote
