JerseyHarold Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 (edited) I'm posting this in case anyone is interested. Revolico is the Cuban equivalent of Craigslist and occasionally I'll visit the site to see if there are any Plymouths for sale. My knowledge of Spanish is very limited but I can usually decipher the ads. I'm always amazed to see how the Cubans have managed to keep their cars going. It's truly ingenious in many cases. Check out the Fiat engine in this '53: http://www.revolico.com/autos/carros/-plymouth-53-petroleo--6691313.html Food for thought for those taknig the resto-mod approach. greg g Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 (edited) don;t see a carb, or plug wires Probably a diesel. What would Walter say??? I would bet if you showed up with abut 12 to 15 Benjamins, you could have it. The standard exchange rate deosn't mean much when real cash dollars make an appearance. GlennCraven Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 Does seem to be a diesel engine. The Fiat Ducato is a large van and some versions came with carburetors and gas engines and others with indirect-injection diesels. Quote
Old Ray Posted October 15, 2013 Report Posted October 15, 2013 I wonder how much it would cost to ship the windshield over to here? Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 16, 2013 Report Posted October 16, 2013 The car sits higher than normal.......I wonder what modifications they may have done to the suspension. At least this one seems to pretty much have its original trim pieces. Many have strange home made items. Quote
RobertKB Posted October 16, 2013 Report Posted October 16, 2013 It's got '54 Plymouth bumperettes. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted October 16, 2013 Report Posted October 16, 2013 (edited) 54 Dodge bumperettes maybe...or those found on a Canadian or export model. They are unlike any 54 Plymouth that I have seen in the states...these pictured are bulbous......US Plymouth are not shaped as such and are usually the model one pictures when referring to 54 Plymouth in general Edited October 16, 2013 by Plymouthy Adams Quote
