Hi Guys,

It's a new year frought with challenges to this senior's brain.  They say,.....you gotta keep learning to discourage the effects of old age.  Well, I'm trying.  Jumped from the PC into the Applesauce.  Not w/o thought and advice from several others of similar mindsets, but it sure all looks and works different.  Also with the new Forum, the new Photobucket and a new browser, I am strugglin big time!  Hope I'm learnin something with all the mental effort/anguish!  When I get really frustrated I go out to the garage and make sparks or wrench on something to make me feel better.

So,....the first challenge is to get pictures attached to this thread.......wish me luck

Sure is tedious.  I think it worked.  Pics of my latest fantasy.  Scale looks big but this is a Red Ram 241 and a blower off of a Ford Lightning pickup.  Should make a nice 3/4 scale package.

YES!!!!! next question, can one attach or paste a larger image, or is the thumbnail "it"?

You can "link" a picture from photobucket instead of uploading to the site. TO link an image click on the green tree icon in the lower row of tool icons. If you roll over it with you mouse it will say "image". Click on it and a dialog box will open where you enter the URL for your remotely hosted image. When you press "Post" the image will appear in the thread.

Lemme try dat...........

Ahhh, "green tree icon",...I'm not seeing it.  On the Photobucket page?????  Sorry to be such a goof!

Whenever I click on that green box that says image......my whole screen goes kinda dark and just stays that way.....won't

do anything.  I would love to be able to post the full size pics rather than the thumbnails.  Besides, I have to wait and

see what order the system will put the thumbnails in.....then do an edit to relate the comment to the correct picture.

Bob my system does that too on 3 different computers using internet explorer. I've tried updating java on them but it didn't help. I have to use google chrome to post pictures.

I have that same problem on my work computer. I've found that I can just copy the "IMG" link in my Photobucket and paste it into my message using "Ctr + V". It works the same way as the previous forum.

I don't think so... I use Safari on my home computer and haven't noticed any particular problem.

When you click in the "Reply to this topic"  the tool bar will appear and it to the left of the <> symbols.

When I hit reply, the tool bar pops up in a muted tone. I have tried the "bolding" icon in the recent past and it does not work. I now see the <>, but clicking on the icon adjacent does not yield any action.

I'm also getting an invitation to download something. I have not done that. Could that be the issue?

I love the looks of this truck!

Darren

Thanks!

That spreader looks pretty dinky to me...

The bags in the back were dirt which filled in about a 4x15 area. Doesn't take much of a spreader to distribute fertilizer and grass seed over that small of an area.

Ha I remember when that truck went through the pond. It was pretty close to where I work.

WOW!!!!!  I think I got it,...trying another

Man, that's tedious.  Hope I can remember.

This post, beside trying to learn the new system(s), was also meant to be a teaser. Only took me about a week to post this note. I'm pooped and just about ready to give up on teasing.

The tease is this combo for another project.  Not as massive as it appears here.  The Hemi is a 241 and the blower is an Eaton off a Ford Lightning worth 112 cu.in /rev.

Lately I have noticed a message in a box appearing at the top when I first open PhotoBucket.......but it does not appear all

the time.  It doesn't stay up there very long, but it says something llike PhotoBucket does not support Windows 7, use

Google Chrome and/or some other choices as a browser.  (At least that's what I think it says).  Maybe that's what's

causing some of these difficulties.

I still use Windows 7, and so far it works to do the thumbnails but I can't get anything to work with that green tree box.

Bob that message probably says internet explorer 7 not windows 7. And for your link you need to copy the IMG box from photobucket. Thats a different line than what we used to paste into the little box.

I pressed control plus v and it posted the link but not the picture.........

Bob, you can use the preview button to test if you have the URL set up correctly before actually posting a new message.

Bob,  I'm discovering that much of my problem, aside from my inexperience, is my Windows XP and Explorer Browser.  Having a Java Script error (which I have no idea what that means or how I got it) I was prevented from doing many of the things I enjoy online,....Photobucket for one.  Couple that with the new Forum and Photobucket formats and the frustration of muddling through the morass of electronic mumbo jumbo drives me to the garage for some R & R of makin sparks and bendin stuff.

So, I jumped to Apple, a new ISP, and a new browser.  Everything is different now so I guess it time to do some learnin!

Just to let ya'll know, I'm still alive.  Haven't blown my brains out yet but been tempted a few times.  I now have dueling systems, i.e. a Mac and a PC, diff. ISPs but with the same browser on both,... Google Chrome.  Decided to have the PC refurbed because when it was working, it did everything I wanted to do.  Only problem was its' succeptability to viruses which drove me crazy.

So I got an iMac.  It's a desk top.  It's pretty and they say, "intuitive".  Maybe intuitive to a 10 year old but that doesn't get it for me.  I'm trying real hard to learn something.  The say (who ever they is) it's good to keep learning in your advancing years.  They don't say anything about the prospect of a heart attack or suicide caused by the stress a 75 year old trying to learn "intuitive".  The new format on this forum and on Photobucket are challenging enough.

To sum it up, I'll soon be posting stuff again, sometimes via Apple, sometimes via PC as I fumble toward an objective of being reasonably proficient in some medium so's I can share what's going on at my end with those who are interested.

Wish me luck!
