Messages on our profile pages.......

I went to my user profile page while ago (I seldom go look at it) and there

were a couple messages from new members. One had been there since

October, the other just a week or two.

I had forgotten people can leave a message there.

So, you might want to go look at your page from time to time in case

someone has posted a question there.

I replied to both parties. I'm sure the fellow from October thought he

was being totally ignored. Not sure I've seen his handle turn up on

the forum.....or at least not very often.

So......thought I'd just mention this as hopefully helpful information.

For some reason when I delete the messages that have been left for me on my profile page, the message get deleted, but the author and date get left behind. Not sure if this is visible to the world or only in my view?

Not visible when I checked your profile.

I have the same thing.

Since Tim said the message feature can be turned off.....I think I'll turn

mine off. Would be perhaps better than them leaving a message and

getting no reply - thinking no one cares enough to respond.

Apparently I turned off the messages successfully but have some more checking to do.

im kinda lost here,do you meen under messages such as A PM ?

When you click on your own profile name....there is a "window" below your profile picture that has a tab that sez "visitor meassages"....more of a personal message board. If you want to see your PM's you can use the highligted link that says "Private Messages", upper right corner, which bypasses the profile page. I'll leave you a note to so you can see it.....when you delete my meassage, it'll leave a marker saying you deleted it.

I don't check my profile either on a regular basis and feel most would PM me over leaving a profile message. Guess I need to turn mine off too.

Newbies don't know how to navigate these forums right at first......

so they tend to leave messages in places they first come upon.
