BobT-47P15 Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 In looking thru eBay stuff, I noticed someone is selling a watch with a P15 hood emblem in the middle. Don't know how good a watch it is, but the price doesn't seem too bad........$14.99 with free shipping. Just passing it on in case anyone finds it interesting or wants one. I have no vested interest in the product. Link to the ad: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1947-PLYMOUTH-2-DOOR-BUSINESS-COUPE-EMBLEM-UNISEX-WATCH-/130803306198?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e747c0ed6 Quote

wldavis3 Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 Hey, what is the trick to getting your bride to say it is O.K. to hang a clock like that in "her" living room? I don't think I could pull that one off. Hints??? Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 This is a pretty expensive mantel clock with those funny upside down numerals too. Hmmm... And I thought they made that cheap P-15 import watch wrong! Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted December 7, 2012 Author Report Posted December 7, 2012 I looked on "Shopzilla" shopping site for clocks with roman numerals. They all used the same upside down numerals at the bottom. Guess we gotta do as the Romans do. Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 or...be completely fair about the whole deal...whoever ponies up the majority of the money for house, furnishings, utilties and overall running and paying for all these things pertaining to ownership has the final say.. lawyers can be found in your area in the yellow pages.. Don Coatney Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 lawyers can be found in your area in the yellow pages.. I think Yellow Pages will soon become as extinct as White Pages and parts books at the local bubble pack auto parts store. In my area they drop off a phone book with yellow pages only about once a year. I hope it is soon as I am short of paper for my out house. The slick pages from Hot Rod magazine just dont work as well as the old Sears catalog. Quote

And I thought they made that cheap P-15 import watch wrong! Do they even teach Roman Numerals in school today? My grandkids do not know that II equals 2. They think it means pause. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 I think only law related dcouments and superbowls are in roman numerals these days..been that was since about MCMLXXXVIII Quote
hkestes41 Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 You would be surprised at the number of otherwise somewhat intelligent kids who can't tell time looking at a regular old clock without pondering it for a while. Quote
RobertKB Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 I think only law related dcouments and superbowls are in roman numerals these days..been that was since about MCMLXXXVIII 1988 is about as long it gets in "modern" time. Much shorter now. MMXIII. I also see for me it is post MMMDCC. I have always liked Roman Numerals since I was a kid. Quote
T120 Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 (edited) Another point to ponder..Why is the number four most often represented as IIII on clock dials? - One of the explanations - "Only the I symbol would be seen in the first four hours of the clock, the V symbol would only appear in the next four hours, and the X symbol only in the last four hours. This would add to the clock's radial symmetry". Edited December 7, 2012 by Ralph D25cpe Quote
Young Ed Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 Thats interesting. I always wondered why a lot of them seemed to have IIII instead of IV. Quote
