Merle Coggins Posted April 16, 2013 Report Posted April 16, 2013 Anyone got a part # for them? I have some car ones that might be the same..... Headlight Assy Parts PagesHeadlight Assy Parts.pdf 1 Quote
Young Ed Posted April 17, 2013 Report Posted April 17, 2013 (edited) Thanks Merle. That part # is not the same as 40-48 plymouths. It is however the same as the 51 mopar car lineup. At least for plymouth that should mean 49-52 fit and maybe even 53-54. Might be junkyarding when it finally thaws out around here and can look for a pair if you want. Let me know. Edit: called Dad and he looked it up in his 54 and prior mopar parts book. Your buckets(shell in the book) fit dodge desoto chrysler 46-54 and plymouth 49-54. For some reason the 46-48 plymouths have a diff #. Dad said he's probably got some in storage which we'll be going to in a few weeks. I can still look at the junkyard too. hazegry Posted June 10, 2013 Report Posted June 10, 2013 Hey man if you need any help when you get back let me know I'm right down the road in va beach. I just got my truck and its got an updated suspension on it from a Plymouth fury II it may give you some ideas for the red truck. Also great work so far your really doing it right. Who did you use for powder coating? I am thinking about getting my frame and susp parts done when I repaint my truck in a few years. Quote
judsonhauling Posted June 10, 2013 Author Report Posted June 10, 2013 some of it I have powerdercoated myself. I got a free oven off craigslist and coat the small stuff. everything else was done by Vanwinn in Suffolk. Great guys. After blasting the frame they found some spots rusted through and ate up. They sent me pictures and asked me if I wanted to fix them first (which I did). The little stuff I would recommend J&J in Va Bch. I had them do some medium size stuff before I bought my set up and they did great work as well. James Look forward to meeting you. Quote
judsonhauling Posted June 11, 2013 Author Report Posted June 11, 2013 Got a message about my powder coat set up. I literally have a electric oven I found on craigslist for free. I ran a 220 outlet to it. I have the hypersmooth 02 DPW and I got my powders from Columbia Coatings and Coatings365. Its a very middle of the road set up but works very well and I use it way more then I planned! 1 Quote

Im makine a new windshield center post amont other things. Ill post up some pictures this evening. Any new progress pics? Still interested in some of those grill bar tabs as well. Quote
judsonhauling Posted October 19, 2013 Author Report Posted October 19, 2013 Yea. Finally back home for a while. Got some serious work done lately. Here is the short list. Got ALL the chrome back from the chrome shop Door Handles and latches on New door glass back from the glass shop. Going to need a couple of parts to finish the door glass Bed wood and strips installed Bed on Tail gate on Working a spare tire solution need a new master cylinder, ours just doesn't work as I suspected. I rebuilt it but it just won't hold pressure. I hooked up a single MC I had laying around and it help pressure once I bled it. I will order one from Roberts this week. Ordering tail lights, brackets, and mirrors from him this week as well. Decided to just make my own running boards instead of trying to fix the broke joke ones I had. I just need to weld the new brackets I bent up to them and align them. I think I am going to send them off to power coat, haven't really decided. So here is a ton of pictures. The rear bed bracket on passenger side was waisted so I cut it out and welded in a new piece. Quote
Dave72dt Posted October 20, 2013 Report Posted October 20, 2013 That's some really nice work on those boards! Quote
MBF Posted October 20, 2013 Report Posted October 20, 2013 Real nice work on the boards! Having just taken a header off of the driver's side on my 2.5 ton I'd suggest some kind of antislip surface. Your truck is looking very good. Mike Quote
judsonhauling Posted October 20, 2013 Author Report Posted October 20, 2013 Got some more work done on the running boards today. welded nuts to the brackets and then welded the brackets to the running boards. I have more time in these running boards then I think anything else built for this truck. 1 Quote
Old 48 1 Ton Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 It's coming along. Looking great! I need to find me a set of those running boards. Quote
1952B3b23 Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Those boards look awesome along with the rest of the truck, well done! -Chris Quote
HanksB3B Posted November 1, 2013 Report Posted November 1, 2013 Judson, Nice Job ! Makes me want to re-do mine. Previous Owner drilled a number of holes I'm guessing to carry a spare battery. They were welded but left as "blobs" by the powdercoater. Jose would definately do them again and I would finish them the exact same way and wonder if how you are considering finishing yours? Gloss is slippery and even gloss powdercoat will boot scratch. Mine were finished in a non-skid crinkle cut dull black finish. They look like day one. (need to take a photo) Hank Quote
