In the last few seconds of the auction I was out sniped. :( It's a 39 Plymouth Sedan Delivery. Just over 2200 made that year so pretty rare.

Somebody call me a wambulance.

Me too Reg. I have a lot of fond memories from this one. Dad owned it quite a bit of my childhood and its one of the cars I practiced driving a manual in. I remember rolling backwards about a 1/2 a block one of the first times I tried a hill.

Cant quite see in the picture but the original 39 caps were crusty so this one had p15 hubcaps on it. The day the new owner came to get it I took all 4 of those off and replaced with better 39 style ones Dad had found. Those same 4 p15 caps are now on my p15 so I still have a small piece of the 39.

Ed:,

As long as we are torturing Reg....

Reg:

Remember the 611-T radio that went for close to $700? Well what halted me in my tracks were two things. One I thought I might be bidding against you and the other was if I won it for $700 I thought it'd take at least another $300 to get it working. $7,200 is a lot of bread and I hope something like this happens to you:

About a month ago a very good friend spotted a 610-T radio that was listed on eBay from a seller that didn't know what he had. If it makes you feel better notice the price "7202" so I say you are going to find a "39" for something like $720.00. and I hope it's in the not too distant future.

Well the cat is out of the bag so here's a link to my 610-T thread:

That is his old one. The guy we sold it to kept it for a while and then traded up to a 39 coupe. Its gone through a couple sellers since and the price keeps getting higher. Its been for sale at this price for probably 2 years.

Well this one works for me. With the insane prices some of these parts are going for I never bid early anymore. It just adds to the price.

The above statement is very true. The reason I place a bid (hopefully at the very beginning) is so that I get notified if I'm outbid, but I don't bid again till the very last moments.

Hank :)

The feeling is a lot like gambling. When you win it's a major adrenaline rush, when you loose it's such a let down. I try to remember many years ago how I felt when my 15 year old girlfriend told me she was going to the store for cigarettes and never came back. Then I tell myself "So what I didn't win, things are not so bad".

I have never figured out why anyone would tell everyone they are bidding early and often. It just fuels the fire and drives the seller to even more financial happiness! Proxy bid or sniper-only way to try to keep prices down.

didja miss it cuz yer sniper was slow or because it wnet past yer limit??? Nice rig for the price.

My sniper worked fine. The bids just jetted past my limit in the last few seconds
