1950 Special Deluxe Posted January 4, 2012 Report Share Posted January 4, 2012 I currently own a 1950 Dodge Special Deluxe (Canadian) and recently purchased a 1952 Dodge DG-1. I brought it home on New Year's Day. I ran the VIN and it was manufactured in Windsor, Ontario, has a wheelbase of 108, build number of 1755 and a T307 engineering code. Cannot read the motor number yet. It is in fair shape, motor turns over, is fairly complete and last ran(?) 2-3 years ago. It will be a bit of time before I get much time to work on this project, but it was a decent deal and they are not too common around here. My 1st question is; are there any differences between the DG-1 and the B-3-B? I have Don Bunn's book and the DG-1 does not seem to be mentioned. Merle Coggins Posted January 4, 2012 Report Share Posted January 4, 2012 Yes, the DG-1 is the Canadian version of the American B-3-B. Probably the only thing different would be the engine. Your's most likely has the longer 25" engine, whereas our version would have a 23"er. Good find. Welcome to the "Cool" side of the forum. Hank I took a couple of pictures of the emblem. There is 1 on each side. It appears to be Hernando, the DeSoto guy. Another surprise, somebody must have added them.
