New Guy from the Car Side

Recommended Posts

I currently own a 1950 Dodge Special Deluxe (Canadian) and recently purchased a 1952 Dodge DG-1. I brought it home on New Year's Day. I ran the VIN and it was manufactured in Windsor, Ontario, has a wheelbase of 108, build number of 1755 and a T307 engineering code. Cannot read the motor number yet. It is in fair shape, motor turns over, is fairly complete and last ran(?) 2-3 years ago. It will be a bit of time before I get much time to work on this project, but it was a decent deal and they are not too common around here. My 1st question is; are there any differences between the DG-1 and the B-3-B? I have Don Bunn's book and the DG-1 does not seem to be mentioned.

Thanks

Is that an emblem behind the front tires?
Bet that emblem says V8. Here's hoping it's a Hemi!

Hank :)

I took a couple of pictures of the emblem.

There is 1 on each side.

It appears to be Hernando, the DeSoto guy.

Another surprise, somebody must have added them.

I have not got much history on the truck so far.

Came from a guy, who bought from a guy, etc.

Thats cool.

When dodge started putting in hemis, was there a special emblem?

Yes the 54-56 trucks have the round ram head replaced with a V on the grill. I believe 54 was the first year for a v8 in a truck.
