Some more pics. some old guys cars, some old guys (chet and bob)

some old guys car and scenery, some old bridge.

Got some movies also if I get them uploaded, I will post the link.

I stoped at the Auto Museum in Norwich on the way home some interesting cars there. Got some pics there also, will post some of those later.

Trip was uneventful, but I cussed Chet several times on the way down. He remarked about listening to noises and worrying about stuff falling off. So today was the first time all season that I deove the car with the cowl vent closed and the windows rolled up. Darn if Chet's little seed wasn't planted and I worried every little noise I now was able to hear because there was no wind noise. Glad it got warm enough to cruise home with the window down and the cowl vent cracked open a bit. All was back to normal. 248 miles and nothing fell off.

Made it home about a half hour ago. Parked the car, checked her vitals, wrote down a few facts then tossed my stuff in the truck and drove the last mile home. All in all, she performed well, (except for an annoying hot start problem), drove 454.5 miles round trip. Hotel: $187.00 / gas: $124.43 / food(beer): $38.00.

Got a few photos to share as well, will post those later.

Hi all,

I got back home at 5:45 PM. It was great meeting Bob & Mark in person and seeing their great cars. Bob your car is a classic and your dad was wrong, because if he was right it wouldn’t be running today and we would not have been able to get together. I can’t post pictures right now but will post at another time. I learned a number of things about my car, like my moldings are upside down. Also Greg you were right on. When I stopped on the Jersey Turnpike for gas I popped the hood and sure enough I watched the bottom of the carburetor get wet with gas then dry out after about 5 minutes. I will definitely adjust the float. Great catch !!!

Here are the stats according to the GPS:

Total round trip mileage: 631.1

Max Speed: 70.2

Moving Average: 54.2

Moving Time: 11:38 hours

Stopped Time: 02:36 hours

Expensive breakfast with gas and tolls, but a Great Time !!!

Chet' date=' good to meet you today, but above all, so pleased that you had a safe trip up and back. By the way, your car looks great and thanks for the kind words about my "Wayback Machine"[/quote']

Bob,

No thanks necessary. Your car is what I think the old car hobby is all about. (Especially the vice-grips) That is, having fun, meeting people, and sharing adventures. Stay young and insane it’s the only way to go. Keep the pictures coming. I always enjoy reading about your adventures.

The whole ride I was going over in my head every nut bolt and screw I touched over the last 6 years wondering if I tightened all of them.

Chet...

That is one of the reasons I dont want a radio in my P-15. I want to be able to hear what falls off:D

So far only one thing fell off of my car and that was the air cleaner top when I was 1/2 block from home. I drove home, parked the car, and walked back to the scene of the crime. I never did find the air cleaner top. So I made one from a Prince Albert tobacco tin lid.

Don this spring I heard something fall off and in a split second questioned whether I had put the radiator cap back on. Looked behind and saw the car behind me launch it towards the sidewalk. Drove back a little later and found it good as always.

Don,

I have an Edmonds repro and it is held on by a set screw that is always coming loose. I was afraid that on the trip it would fall off so I attached a safety line from the top lid and tied the other end to the water heater intake. During the whole trip it didn’t loosen up. Sorry Greg, I don’t have a picture but maybe Mark does.

This weekend 4 of us decided to meet at the Roscoe Diner. Mark B met with member Bigdaddyo who was going to be attending an event outside Albany.

Here are some pics of that even posted on the HAMB forum. No offense to the fellows I had breakfast with but this looks a bit more interesting.

I submit the this is where we need to meet up next year, and you fellows in the tri state area and the rest of New England PA, NJ and northern Va and Maryland need to start making plans to be there. No body will be required to race, but this looks like a pretty good event for gear heads of all stripes.

This from the nostalgia drags, show and swap meet at Lebonon Valley raceway. I believe it happens annually but this date was a rain date. I think it is usually the second weeked in OCT. More on next years exact date but no weaseling out. Mark you calanders for OCT.

Wow, after seeing these pictures, I second the suggestion for next years unofficial meet-up. Looked like a great event.

One more addition to the notes; we need to fire our travel agent for not knowing this ahead of time.

looks like you guy's had a great time, the cars look real nice. I really like the burgandy sedan with the skirts. I guess we will all have to do something next year. It is always good to see the guy's from the forum in person. You all really clocked alot of miles. The cars must be running very well.

Hi Rodney, that's my Ruby with the skirts! Just now getting time to upload a few more of the gang and my travels from Bolton, MA to Roscoe, NY. It was a great trip. Here's a few more shots....

Narration:

Road side defunct gas station in Red Hook, NY.

Crossing the Hudson on the Kingston Bridge.

Couple of old farts parked at the Linvingston Manor Covered Bridge.

Following a Dodge up 87 that must've come from that meet Ron was going to.

Ruby parked in her carraige house, colling down after the trip. (she's spoiled)
