Wouldn't an as mounted (pre dissasembly) measurement give you the length you need to maintain while installint the new ones??? with a for the job made tool??? Wonder if the measurment is in the crash book data???

Greg. I have not been able to find any measurements on this section. The tool is used to insure that you do not over tighten the assembly and to insure that you have no binding.

All I am asking is if someone does have this tool if they would kindly made a tracing of the tool. The metal is just flat stock bar that is bent at the proper length and witht he proper upright length. If I can get these measurements then there is a good possibility that we migt be able to make several at a resonable cost.

Just putting out the feelers to see if anyone has this tool.

Rich, I know you want the tool diamensions, and I have checked my Mopar workshop manuals for the tool size, all have that same pic with the guys arms........lol.....and NO actual tool measurements.......but.....I just went & measured the actual lower arms I have........and compared them to the distance in the book.......from lower arm inner pivot outer edge where the pivot pin fits is 11 & 9/16th"......the arms I have and the book confirm this measurement.......AND the distance BETWEEN the INNER edge of the arms with the lower inner pivot installed is 10 &1/4".........I have checked this against a lower control arm without the pivot and one with the pivot installed.......both measurements are the same either way.......again I know you want the size of Tool C-594...........maybe what I have sent might also help........andyd

AndyDodge.

I just received this tool in the mail today from a guy that collects tools. Your measurement of 10 1/4 was dead on. The outside edge to outside edge on the tool is 10 1/4. I will take some pictures of the tool I also have the tool for the upper control arm.

Rich,

Here are some pics of this 6 cylinder lower control arm spreader tool-end to end is 10-5/16". The tool spreads the lower control arm so when installing the pivot bushings the pivot shaft will rotate easily and not bind. Also this tool positions/centers the shaft accurately. With out it the new pivot shaft will bind unless the A-Arm is spread to 10-5/16-not 10-1/4".

If you are only interested in making a tool identical to the original one then forget this reply. I made a tool to do the job which worked pretty good. If you want to see it, use the search feature and type in "tools". Then go down the page to " show your tools". I submitted two photos of the tool on 11-28-2010. If this is of interest, I could tell how it works.

Did I miss something here or is there truly a Santa Claus? On the 13th you were looking for someone that had this tool and a week later it shows up in you're mail box. Something else must have happened in that time, or do you just have good Carma? Usually all I get in the mail are bills. Anyway, I'd like a nice P15 with a V8 and a Million $. I'll be checking my mail box in a week. :D And contrary to what my ex may say, I have been a good boy Santa.

Haha you're getting greedy. I'll just ask for a fresh coat of Charolette Ivory for my p15.

Yes I was looking for anyone that had this tool to see if I could get the demensions on the tool.

Then I found a gentleman that wa selling old Miller Tools and he had the tool.

Several of the members did try to provide me with the demension by taking measuments off there suspension parts.

The tool did arrive yesterday in the mail and the tool was very close to the measure fron andy dodge. I used a ruler to measure the length on the tool and did not take an exact measure like another member did who had the tool.

So Now I own both the upper and lower Miller tool that is used to install both of the pivot bushings.

So if anyone is going to install new pivot busihng and upper or lower control arms I have the two tools that are used to insaure that you do not collapse the control arms when over tightening the bushings.

i would like to thank all for their input on my request.

I will post pictures of both tools. I have the carma so put in you order and you might be surprise at what arrives on your door step or at your fron door. I persaonnly know Santa Clause.
