After 20 years of sittin'. A new battery, cables, cleaning of the carb and fuel pump, she fired up.

Next I need to address the fuel tank ( it's currently getting fuel from a gas can) :o.

Still cant figure out the 'no charging' business. Might just need a voltage regulator.

Anywho, just wanted to share. :D

Congrads!!!! Its fun with a gas can type tank. my son learned how to drive a stick with my 49 1-1/2 ton truck. Gas can in the front seat & no brakes. He would go around & around my land until he blew the fan belt. she got hot so he quit. Then we pulled it in the shop and built a log sided camper out of it.

I can share the excitement.

Since the battery has been out of the truck you might want to polarize the generator to get the generator to charge. It doesn't cost anything and it's worth a try. Joe

You may want to try removing the dust band on the generator and blowing it out w compressed air. Then check to make sure that the commutator is not badly oxidized, and that then look at the brushes and springs to make sure that they're making good contact with the comm. Congratulations on bringing another one back to life. Mike

With the fuel tank fixed and the charging system working, I took her out for a spin around the block ( a few times :D).

Now it's more body work, paint, 16" wheels, lights, etc.................:o
