greg g
grits always made me nervous. How does one process an item with lye (drain cleaner) then call it food?? Hey Tim isn't grits the official food of Georgia?? and whats so bad about loaded fries???
TodFitch
... How does one process an item with lye (drain cleaner) then call it food?? ... My guess is that you haven't read too much about how the modern food industry manufactures its ingredients. All sorts of processes that make treating with lye sound down right safe and inviting. Plymouthy Adams
in the canning industry peaches are peeled with lye along with many other fruits and veggies..once rinsed you never know..you can drop an ice cube in a cow pattie and rinse if t if you choose..does not affect but the outer layer (no I do not do this nor recommend it, just stating it can be done) Offical southern food is that that does not eat you first..or found between the white lines on the highway..usually closest to center line is the freshest kill.. Joe Flanagan
We've gone from Cheerioats to manure and road kill. And I wasn't even involved!
Plymouthy Adams
al right Joe, you have our attention..which way would you steer this thread..keep it out of the putrid stench of the tidewater region at low tide..not everyone finds the odor of pluff mud pleasant.. Now here is a novel idea. Everytime we go for a drive and spot some roadkill we should stop, take a picture, and post the picture on a new thread. Joe Flanagan
I don't either, since I'm not from around here. Personally, I would have preferred that we get to the manure and road kill by the fourth post at the LATEST. But all in all, I have to say you did OK without my guidance. Plymouthy Adams
deal me in Don..a little foresight I could have taken a picture of the aramdilla that was still alive but injured in my orchard Sunday..as much as I hate them about the house..I still will not hit them on the road or wish them harm outside of my house/barn perimeter.. also Sunday as wife and I were sipping water mid way thoguh the cutting of the lawn..buzzards were busy on two side of the orchard having a hot meal on squirrel..reckon to them it was a delicacy..tree rat **** up on the centerline.. Yea, poutine (french fries with gravy and cheese curds) is as good as it sounds... not really good for you though.. but a lot of stuff that's not good for you tastes really good. I never could develope a taste for grits. My wife, having lived a bit in the south, tolerates them a bit more then I do, but she thinks you really have to be brought up in the south to actually like them. Greg... Loaded fries were a big seller at the pizza shop my sons had... Pizza with chicken, bacon and ranch dressing was a big seller too...
Don Coatney
be honest with you maybe it is time that GTK dedicate a page just for folks that want to post pictures that are not of a technical value or of a work inprogress showing before and after as such..... Tim; I think that is a great idea! GTK, care to comment on this?

oldodge41
OK, I am officially confused. It would seem talk about, and photos of, food and animals, dead, wounded, or alive are fine for this forum, but car pics are not?
Plymouthy Adams
your post is just the same as mine..one person..on observation...it is not any differnet than say: I like cars that are original and dislike those that are modidfied..for the guys who like modified..the ole glove across the face..as for the animals, food etc...the thread goes as the thread goes..very little steering here also...this one actually stayed relatively calm compared to some we have had in the past...
