Merle Coggins Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 (edited) Yes. The acoustic kit consists of a series of Dynamat strips and a "map" to show where to place them. Then the insulation panels would go over that to further quiet the cab as well as insulate from heat. Then the interior panels finish it all off. If the search works on this new format you should be able to find a thread titled "Interiors" from me. I did this thread when I installed my Quiet Rides kits a few years ago. Merle Edit: I'll save you some time. I had to try the Search feature of the new forum, so here you go. http://mopar.pairserver.com/p15d24ph_forum/index.php?/topic/12112-interiors/?hl=interiors Edited January 21, 2013 by Merle Coggins Quote
ggdad1951 Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 got my parts today from Quiet Ride. Very nice. They even color match painted them for me for free! They did their level best to mimc the lines embossed in the door panels (originals embossed, QR used the CNC cutter to score and make lines). The only thing they seemed to have missed were the needed holes for the top headliner for mounting. But nice parts! Quote
B1B Keven Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 I'm going to use 'H' channel between each piece of plastic. IE.... center of headliner, between cab pieces and where the headliner and cab pieces meet. http://www.made-in-china.com/showroom/tianjinpvc/product-detailCbPnDZOdPqhe/China-PVC-H-Channel-PJ001-.html Quote
Desotodav Posted January 22, 2013 Report Posted January 22, 2013 I ran a couple of extra flat metal pieces to extend between the 4 metal saddles where the headliner screws to as it gives the liner a bit better support. I have heard of Velcro being used on the underside of the to provide additional support to the 4 fixing screws. Desotodav Quote
DollyDodge Posted January 24, 2013 Report Posted January 24, 2013 I really love my Quiet Ride Head liner. Attached is a photo off my Iphone, I will have better ones in a few days off my camera. It really looks nice. Quote

DollyDodge Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 Here are some better pictures of my headliner. I just realized today that in order to put seatbelts in I will need to take some of the headliner out again. Dang it, got ahead of myself. 1 Quote

I just realized today that in order to put seatbelts in I will need to take some of the headliner out again. Dang it, got ahead of myself. That looks really good. I'm prepping mine right now, insulating, and painting. Question: I have two mounting screws in the head liner, but it looks like Quiet Rides doesn't use/need those? What paint did you use? I'm using SEM, but the Brown they have is a bit darker than yours. Quote

Monkey Truck Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 You will need to mark and drill the holes in the headliner. Ok, thanks. Looks like it will be a little tricky to get those holes to line up exactly to drill. Where did you buy your push-in fasteners? Quote
B1B Keven Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 Plastic push in fasteners come with the headliner. Quote
Monkey Truck Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 Did you get your interior from Quiet Rides? I just got mine and I didn't receive any hardware. Quote
ggdad1951 Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 you can get authentic ones from Restoration Specialties PN 1790 I think. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 I didn't get anything from Quiet Rides for my headliner. On my truck there is only 1 screw bracket in the roof, although I've seen 2 on other trucks. I didn't put anything up there initially and it worked just fine. However, now I'm noticing a little sag in the center and I may now have to locate that tab and add a fastener to hold it up. Might be a bit tricky to find it now. Merle Quote

Merle Ok, I was wondering if that would happen or not. I might try and pin point mine while I'm installing the headliner just in case. Going to be tricky drilling those 2 holes in the exact spot needed. Quote

Merle I 'd think you'd be able to feel along the seem and find the mount. I can measure mine and give you a distance from the edge (I think the hole is centered). Mine didn't come with ANY holes, so I'll use my original as a template for the side and bottom back holes. Edited February 6, 2013 by ggdad1951 Quote

Merle Merle I have the one small mounting point on my cab ceiling. You could try a rare earth magnet to find the mounting pad. The hole is right in the center. Jeff Quote
Merle Coggins Posted February 6, 2013 Report Posted February 6, 2013 I was thinking about the magnet trick, or a stud finder. I just haven't got a round tuit yet. Merle Quote

ggdad1951 Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 two mounting brackets? Mine only has one, unless we are talking different things? The mount on the ROOF of the cab, right? Quote
Merle Coggins Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 Some trucks, like mine and yours, have only one mount point in the center. Others I've seen have two. I don't know why? Quote
52b3b Joe Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 Look on one of the previous page, Desotodav's even has 4 of those mounts! Mine only has one like yours. Quote
B1B Keven Posted February 7, 2013 Report Posted February 7, 2013 I 'think' the B1 and B2's have two mounting points. The 3's and 4's have one in the center. Quote
