Hey everyone, new to the forum here, already got linked here from several places, like the h.a.m.b. and the Dodge Coronet Registry...

I have a '49 Dodge Meadowbrook, here are a couple pics from the day I first went to look at it...

That was October of '09, I have done a lot to it since then, it's a slow but steady process. The car has been almost 100% re-wired, still have a few more things to do with that. Seats have been redone, glass is clear again, suspension is all new, floors welded in, soundproofed, insulated, the list goes on, but I still have a couple more years ahead before I can call it (almost) done. The motor runs really well, had a spell of burning a bit of oil, but that has passed. I joined here for a variety of reasons, the classifieds being one, I'm always looking for parts that could come in handy. Also I like to have as much info available at my fingertips as possible. I'll try to contribute where I can, usually that's only where I have direct experience, not trying to pass on incorrect third hand info. I was using facebook to host most of my pics, but they changed their format so it's harder to link to it. I'll move pics to photobucket and post up on here. Anyway, that's my story, I go by the same username or variance on multiple sites, so I'm easy to find.

Dave after you posted that you posted this in the wrong section I was thinking it'd show up in the right one. But anyways don't get us wrong that you're not welcome. Looks like a nice start on your car. Wish my 51 was that nice.

Hello Dave. Welcome from just down the road -- in Joplin.

Sounds as if you've been making pretty good progress.

Indeed, there are sometimes useful goodies in the classifieds here.

Another member, Mark Aubuchon, is also from St Louis.

Oh, also Falconvan....in Festus.

Do you go to the HAMB Drags? Hopefully this year I can cruise down that way

Hey, I'm only 32 myself. I'll post lots of pics once I get them loaded up on my photobucket page. I have tons on facebook but they changed the way they host photos so I can't direct link them now...

Thanks for the welcome everyone! I love my flathead motor and will keep it going forever!

I tend to get to the evening doings at the Holiday Inn during the HAMB

drags.....at least for a while. Ran it down the strip a few times back in

2005......probably set the record for slow. When August gets here, you

can send me a PM on here to let me know if you're coming and can decide

where/when we might meet up. HK Estes from the Dallas area usually comes

up for that as well...drives his P15 coupe.

Welcome! Car looks great, keep up the good work. My Grand-dad had a '49 that color when I was a youngster and my Mom used to drive us everywhere in it.

So where did you get your seat covers? I am looking at replacing mine?

A local guy did them, I dropped the seats off while I welded in new floor and replaced the windshield. He is also going to do the headliner, windlace, all the door and kick panels, and carpet, and said I should be able to get it all done for around $22-2300. It's being done in stages.
