Uncle-Pekka Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 Another cool one on my Chrysler. That's really cool looking deflector - art deco style, eh? How does it keep clean? I would assume the exhaust fumes would mess the red lens? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted January 30, 2011 Report Posted January 30, 2011 (edited) I have yet to install mine..just not been in the shop what with OT and working on the house in my free moments..I do intend to embellish it with a Plymouth script or "emblem" I have a nice chromed cast metal PLYMOUTH script and then I also have the crest that is factory to the 54's..time will tell..if I use the script..I will also put on the chromed and painted number "54" I have on hand Edited January 30, 2011 by Tim Adams Quote

Charlie Olson Posted January 31, 2011 Report Posted January 31, 2011 I went on the Wirth site and saw the Universal SS Exhaust Deflector with the red glass reflector. I called them and spoke to Roy Wirth, a very nice guy, and ordered one of those SS Exhaust Reflectors, for PLYWOOD. I hope to have it in time, for this weekends PHX Heritage Square "MOTORING THROUGH TIME" car show. http://phoenix.gov/PARKS/herievnt.html, to click on link to last year's (2010) photos. for a quick look see at some deflectors..other available if you search a bit...http://www.wirthscustomauto.com/exhaust-extensions.html Quote

48P15Annie Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Here's another shot of a deflector... but... her leg is in the way of it.. Even if she wasn't in the way...I still wouldn't be able to see it Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 switch to stainless and cut the extra threads off will really improve the looks of your nice deflector.. Quote
Young Ed Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 Tim the hardware store I get all my stuff at has stainless acorn nuts. They add a nice touch to little areas like that. I have them underneath the last crossmember in my pickup under the bed. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 7, 2011 Report Posted February 7, 2011 polished stainless steel acorn nuts are a nice finish just about everywhere you have exposed threads...even if I need a tad of thread to fit an item togehter..I try to dress the end by using an acorn nut as a a jumb nut. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted February 9, 2011 Report Posted February 9, 2011 while waiting for Chris and Jerry to arrive I tweaked on my deflector a bit...I took the center of a mangled 54 full dish stainless hubcap and trimmed the emblem out and affixed to the deflector..this will match the decor of the Savoy...hard to get a photo that does not glare a bit due tot he flash..looks better to the eye than on film...
