I gave most of my 30+ year collection to an old guy selling stuff at a flea market. . For a long time, most rod mags were 32 Ford Show Cars. Todays mags are 500HP or Rust Rods. I do no buy many mags anymore, but I did buy a mag that had photos of a 38 four door Plymouth, that was in a "Low Rider" mag.

Its me. They are taking up space in the basement. These were laying on a pool table. Gave away the pool table too. These were laying on that pool table. Have two team associated RC10 1:10th scale remote control cars that I'm going to ebay. This will free up some room for the fender I bought and some truck parts I might go look at soon.

I can relate to that, Ed. I have some Cars and Parts mags back to the

1970s when their emphasis was still mainly on the cars of the teens to

the 30s. Also some Old Cars Weekly newspapers. And some newer

Cars and Parts, Hemmings Classic Cars and others. Have been taking

a few to such places as doctors office and the barbershop and placing

in their magazine racks. Even took a picnic basket full to the last car

show.......free, take one......only one went bye-bye. Will keep trying

as I hate to just throw them away.

Hi Ed, if there are any issues with any 46-48 Chrysler, which I highly doubt, I would be interested in any of those....Thanx Fred

I've been watching "Hoarders" quite a bit...like a deer in the headlights:eek:

And when the show ends, I go clean out something that's a flat surface that someone  has piled high with mostly crap he might need someday!

I gave my old car mags to my buddy who was bugging me for them...funny how I don't miss them at all.

I have a trailer now for trips to the dump and since June I have done 5 loads. I mean just how many little hunks of 2X4 does a guy need? I decided that if the hunk is 8 feet long, I'll keep it...otherwise it's gone. Same kind of rules for other crap that tends to creep to overflowing.

I still move very slow but it's getting done.

It's very liberating to have all that crap gone and room to move and concentrate on just a few things.

Still have a few Hot Rod magazines but they are in magazine files and sorted, not in piles ready to fall.

Oh, and I got rid of a pool table as well...the neighbors love it and I play more now than when it was piled with "important" stuff at my place.

Next...the Chrysler...gotta get off the meds for that though.

Pat..that takes a diciplied individual to do all that...I have a pool table. somewhere...!!! If I ever get this house remodel like I want..I probably could shoot a bit of pool..right now that room is overflow from the rip out in other rooms...

Tim, it's that damned show Hoarders that scares the crap out of me and is a big motivator. I'm not that bad by a longshot but I can see the possibility of a slide if I'm not careful.

We are in the process of selling our house. We are downsizing. We've lived here for 33 years! I'm sure that you can imagine all of the wonderful, potentially useful stuff we had! So far I've sold, given away or thrown out 14 pinball games, 2 arcade games, 2 motorcycles, furniture, the usual accumulation of short 2x4's, partial sheets of plywood and drywall, 20+ partial cans of paint, etc, etc. I don't have a trailer or truck, but I have been filling my Jeep Cherokee a couple of times a week for trips to the recycling center since Memorial Day. I can now use my pool table!

I did see one of those "Hoarder" shows, the one with they guy who had a yard full of old cars, metal, and a school bus. Very motovating!

Bally made some great games! One of the last ones I let go was "Mata Hari." It was one of the first Bally electronic games, it still had the mechanical bell chimes instead of electronic tones.

I kept one game to move to the new house, "Majors of '49" by Chicago Coin. It is almost as old as my Dodge! It is surprisingly challenging for an old, simple game.

Fred,

If you are interested, I have four issues of "Cars and Parts" that have articles on these Chryslers, but they are about the T&C's

One issue of "Collectible Automobile" that has an article on a '46 T&C

If you want them, let me know your mailing address and I will get them out in the mail to you free of charge

Young Ed you are very mature, I have almost every magizine I have ever bought. I subcribe to four mags each year. I have them stored in plastic totes. Ican't bring myself to throw them out:eek:They are out of the way. I love car&parts 15years, Rod&custom 20years, hotrodding 10ryears, auto restorer^years, Turning wheel(Studebaker)15years and classic car(hemmings) since they began2years.

I also keep specialty mags you get off the news stand. There was one mag that was out a short while however they went bellyup.Rod Builders or something like that.

I also have some mags that are in plastic that have never been opened. I have three years of playboy that are in order and never been touched by human hands. I am hoping that some of my very young relatives will fine this stuff after I'm dead and really enjoy it the way I have found time capsules in my relatives home. It's like old recordings I ca't bring myself to throw them out.

know what you mean by that..a flat surface collects junk faster than any other thing I can think of...my desk, flat filing cabinet...!

I hear that. The lid on my parts washer takes forever to clear off when I want to use it so most of the time I just don't.:o
