Niel Hoback Posted August 27, 2010 Report Posted August 27, 2010 Am I worrying needlessly, or hose awfully light guage wires for 6 volts? Quote
desoto1939 Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 The wires on this unit are not a problem. i am currently using this same 6v electric fuel pump without any issues. Rich Hartung Desoto1939@aol.com Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted August 28, 2010 Report Posted August 28, 2010 Looks like a small pump, Niel........probably only need small wires. Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 not to worry about the wires..the modern wire has thinner better insulation to protect against chemical breadown and abrasion..so it just looks thinner... Quote
Niel Hoback Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 I guess I'm just obssessing since I learned the hard way about using heavier guage wire for 6 volts. Thanks for the reassurance. Quote

Since electric pumps are better at pushing than pulling (I remember reading that here or somewhere else) can it still be mounted near the engine or does it need to be under the car back by the gas tank? Frank Elder Posted August 29, 2010 Report Posted August 29, 2010 Close to the gas tank, don't forget a filter between your tank and pump. Quote
