westtexasrodder Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 Hey guys, I am new to the forum but have been scouring the site for over a year now. I am from amarillo tx and have a 1948 town sedan. its a great car and all original pieces are intact. I have really appreciated all the info , tech and tips that I have pirated off of these pages and am glad to be a member. thanks again, JT Quote
Jim Yergin Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 Welcome to the forum JT. Nice looking car. Jim Yergin Quote
randroid Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 JT, Welcome. The car looks good and it also looks stock, yet you use 'rodder' in your name so I must ask if it is stock? Not a big deal either way but I'm curious. -Randy Quote
westtexasrodder Posted July 16, 2010 Author Report Posted July 16, 2010 the car is stock and will remain that way, except maybe a few suspension modifications to make it look better IMO. It's still a 6v and I have repaired alot of that to keep it so, still running the stromberg, heater still blows hot, clock works and the dome light is still glowing. I put in a signal stat turn signal though and am running 2 6v batteries in series to help with starting. "rodder" is not reffering to this car. I have an air ride 56 ford, a nitrous fed 01 trans am, another nitrous fed sbc 78 camaro, a 331 52' cadillac and a few sport bikes. I usually love going fast, but it's not a necessity and you cant beat this car at a drive in...and amarillo tx has a great one. Gotta love route 66 Quote
Fireball Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 Welcome from Finland JT, you seem to have quite a collection on your possession. Thumbs up! Quote

P-12 Tommy Posted July 16, 2010 Report Posted July 16, 2010 Welcome JT, You'll love it here. Alot of knowledge. BTW.... when did Dodge do away with the back suicide doors? '48? Tom Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 17, 2010 Report Posted July 17, 2010 Tommy, the town sedans, and in his case a TS Special, are a limited production built along side with the standard D24 with suicide door sedan..the front and rear doors are both larger than the D24 std and has no quarter glass..plus many other differences..they are unique..
