can anyone tell me where the vin tag should be on a 1940 coupe and on a 1948 coupe

Prewar should be on the passenger side door hinge post. Post war should be on the driver side door post.

Vinyage Power Wagon sells blank tags, about 8.50 plus shipping.

Looking at their catalog PDF for group 18 (Body), I see lots of reproduction tags but not the plain serial number tag found on the 1930s and 1940s Plymouths. Do you have their part number for that tag?

I could use a new tag that hasn't been painted over. But not at the price that fellow is asking.

But Tod......the shipping is free
