Hi all, want to replace my u-joints on the 47, anybody got a supplier, and or part number. I looked on our parts list here on the forum, but so far has not been any help.

So if you know where I can buy u-joints, could you please let me know........Fred

What is the difference, these just look like u-joints to me. What is the difference between the regular u-joints and trunion style....Fred correction mine are regular cross and yolk type

Would a parts place be able to come up with a # if Fred measures the existing ones????

Shel, will have to pull them, but most likely any parts house will probably have something to fit, just which ones.

I am surprised this is not simpler, there only cross and yolk u-joints, you would think that places like Rock Auto would have them........

You gave me an idea Shel, pull the driuveshaft off the parts car, then pull a u-joint, and take that in for shopping.......

The MoPar part# is 947550 ( complete U-joint assembly) for the 6 cylinder Chrysler cars. The 6 and 8 cyl. chryslers all use a Detroit cross stlye U-joint.

My Canadian Dodge D25 also has factory cross style U-joint. My spare differential is set up to take the same style joint. I have no idea why Chrysler stayed so long with the ball and trunnion.

Wow, my 46 Plymouth has a ball and trunion on the front, and one of these on the rear,

must had a bunch of stuff left from what ever they made during the war and used it up where they could.
