Yes, she has the Powerflite tranny, surprisingly smooth thru the power range. Too cool. I have attatched some pics of another "Miami Blue" I am considering a Flat Black "Rat Rod" project for the blue one. I have gone Belvedere crazy!

Miss Peaches looks keen.

Mr. Blue does have room for some improvement.

Funny how old Plymouths can multiply on you.:D

They do that around here, too.

Please don't Rat Rod it. It won't benefit you doing it. It won't look good either. I think with a little elbow grease you'll have a great mild custom. Lower it, wide whites and full hubcaps and that car will get more looks than a RR would in a lifetime.

Rat Rod is a horrible term.

Great cars BTW...They will look amazing when you get them done.

Thanks for all the opinions, I was only considering the flat black job figuring I did not want to tie up a ton of money into the second car. It was purchased with the original intent on "parts car", yet the more I look at the old girl it appears to me it is surprisingly complete and solid. so why not get it running and have a cheap "rainy day ride" without doing a full resto. Trust me, I am an original equipment is better than modified guy. The Peach will remain true to its originality, the thing is spotless and driveable. Just not sure what to do with the Blue one without spending a ton and needing to search for original color match parts. Thanks guys, keep a cool tool.

Everything you're saying sounds great but please don't ever refer to it as a RR. It could never be one. Just do what you are going to do but don't let trends get in the way of a nice car.

Just my thoughts.

Keep us posted.

Well, '55, how about this idea?

Have you ever done any body work in the past? You could experiment on

this car as a learning process. I see a crease on the left side that could be

filled, for one thing. Probably other things I can't see.

Then, do you own any painting equipment.....have a friend that has

any???? You could paint it back to the original blue and if it wasn't the best

paint job ever done, what would it matter??? Just a thought.

Bloody

RR YUK...I couldn,t agree with you more that term is way out now.....

the word kustom is more like it....simple, like the 50's /60's

55, that Peach beauty is gorgeous...............

If I could find one in the shape of the blue one, I would make it mechanically sound, clean it up, give it a good buff and wax, slap some e bay period seatcovers on it and drive the snot out of it.

Down the road, I'd think about fixin and painting the fenders. With a bit of elbow grease I bet the original paint would shine up nicely, the rust on the fenders is a testament to the cars character.

Here are some more pics of the old Peach. Hope you enjoy. Anyone else out there have a '55 Belvedere?

Ah yes, brings back old memories. My second car in '67 after my 33 Plymouth was a 55 Plymouth Wagon with a V8 and the dash lever shifter. It felt like a rocket after driving the old 33. My soon to be brother in law once said....."man, you drive this car like it was part of your body"

The wagon was red and white like Young Ed's second photo.
