6 volt bulbs are still readily available from many sources for fog lamps and spot lamps, you would probably need to beef up the wires some but a 12v spot could be retrofitted to 6v.

Being as these spots are totally hollow inside, you might be able to put

a bulb in them by being inventive. But they would have to remain in a

fixed position since they have no handle to move them.

You want a real spot light, go to Unity .com and buy either a 5 or 6 inch

diameter real deal. They still make a new 6 volt light in either size.

I've bought (several) used Unity 6V spotlights from evilBay, but have not yet installed one.

Please let me know, where is the best location to drill from inside the car.

As Kevin remarked, there is tight space btw. door A-post and windshield frame. However, there is a triangle of flat area btw. dash, A-post and windshield, is that spot too low to go throught for the spotlight handle?

Would be really useful to see some detail photos on the dash -A-post area of spotlight mountings.

Thanks in advance,

/Pekka

There is a Unity template for putting the spots on. And you need to make sure that the rods are right for the car. I bought swap meet jobs and ended up buying new rods, or I guess shafts they're called. Anyone's two cents on the shaft coming thru the windshield trim? Mine did. Wish I had a digital cam to take a few pics.

The spotlight that was in my coupe(I removed it if anyone wants it) did not drill into the windshield trim. It did however seem to interfere with the opening of the vent window so I would say it wasnt quite properly installed on my car either. Here you can kinda see my spot light
