steveplym Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Down to $2.21 today. Some places around here it is down to $2.00. Who would have thought this 3-4 months ago. Quote
james curl Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 I paid 2.269 at a Valero station in Austin. Texas two hours ago. Went to the swapmeet in Ft. Worth, Tx last saturday and gas was 2.19 in Lampasas, Tx then, still lower than Austin is now and only 70 miles away. Quote
Young Ed Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 I filled for 2.06 last night. I was trying to hold out for 1.99 but didn't quite make it. Quote
Tony Cipponeri Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Boy you guys are doing great, best price today in Riverside Ca. $2.99. Tony C Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 I filled for 2.06 last night. I was trying to hold out for 1.99 but didn't quite make it. Even if you did hold out until $1.99, what would you save? A whole $1.40 if you bought 20 gallons. What can you buy with a whole $1.40? Use to be I would come home and put my coins in a jar, because I'd end up with a pocket full of change during the day. Now, you can't go anywhere hardly without breaking a $10 or $20 bill. So.......now you come home with a wad of singles instead of coins. A dollar won't buy much of anything today. Quote
Young Ed Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 a dollar 40 is still a dollar and 40 cents. Gotta save where you can. Quote
58prostreet Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Just paid $2.14 in Va. Beach, Va. for 87. Cheaperst diesel I,ve seen is $3.13. Bob Quote
Reg Evans Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Down to $2.889 today in Nor Cal. Gee....it's almost worth driving to Joplin for my next fill up. Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 It's 2.40 however it's cheaper if you pay cash, go figure. In Virginia just over the bridge it's 1.89 I have not driven my truck in a while, the last time I drove it gas was 4.12 wow I still have a litle of that still in there, think I can get a refund:) You all do the math if a barrel of oil cost 69.00 how much should we be paying for a gallon of gas, remember when gas was 150.00 dollars a barrel we were paying 4.15 a gallon. something is still wrong. It went up daily however it is not dropping the same way:mad: Quote
old woolie Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 96 cent's a litre here in New Brunswick. Never thought it would get under a dollar again. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 It's 2.40 however it's cheaper if you pay cash, go figure. Rodney this is what I was talking about as to why we should go back to cash instead of using credit and debit cards. I said then that even though it may cost the consumer nothing to use a debit/credit card, the seller has to pay a fee each time they process the card, plus a monthly accounting fee to the card processing company. Any business is going to add that cost to the price of the product, which also meant the cash people paid it. Some people on the board said they did not care since they didn't have to pay the fee. But...........now the sellers are starting to automatically give discounts if cash is used. Now, that leaves only those who use the plastic to pay for things to pay the fees, as it should be. The station I go to all the time gives a 6 cent discount per gallon if you pay with cash. Made me happy when they started that about a month ago. I found the same type discounts in Minnesota and South Dakota in September too when we filled up each time. Since I've always used cash, I'm now coming out on the right end of the stick. Those fees keep going up for the sellers from the banks. Just got another increase in processing fees about a month or two ago. I think we will probably start to see more discounts in other places besides gas. Like grocery stores and department stores, etc. Quote

Frank Elder Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 Caifornia's state motto ought to be the "Pay to play state" Except what your paying for is a necessity. Quote

55 Fargo Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 Regular Gasoline in the Winnipeg Canada area, 96.9 per litre, 96.9 X 3.83 = $3.71 per US gallon, minus the USA/Canada doallr difference= $3.15 US per gallon for regular gas. Not bad for Canada, but certainly not that great........Fred Quote
JoelOkie Posted November 26, 2008 Report Posted November 26, 2008 $1.53 in Tulsa. Nice to fill the tanks of my work trucks without needing a loan , or per today's business and financial community's favorite treat...a government bailout. Quote
