Don Coatney Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 Had a great time today at the 3rd annual Lebanon car show. Met up with my old friend Mark Hudson and his dad as well as spending time with Chance Moore. Here are a few pictures. Quote
mackster Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 WOW, those are some crazy cars out there.... Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 now that would have been fun to see just what detail or lack of detail went into these creations..lots of imigination represented.. Quote
greg g Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 Somhowe the Dubbed out Studie just dosen't cut it. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 what kid of dog is that..well, before I cut its tail off and painted it yellow, it was called an alligator.. Quote
Don Coatney Posted September 28, 2008 Author Report Posted September 28, 2008 How often do you see a non bullet Baker? Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 That was probably a 1951 model Stude. Some unusual creations there for shore. Did Chance drive his 49 woody wagon? Quote
Brendan D25 Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 The Hudson would have to get my vote. Looks like it was a good show with quite a variety. Thanks, Don. Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 When I first saw the Bob Drake ford on the cover of his catalog I thought it was a bad idea. I see this a trend. After looking closely that truck had a "hemi" I guess they are making a mockery of over restored cars by making the mechanics (which is the most important thing) sound and the body like a beater. I think I like that "Plymouth high boy" I would reallu like to build one like that however the wife would have me committed:mad: thinking that I finally lost the last two marbles that I have. Funny how life imitates art:cool: Don I know you fit right in, being a mad man and all:eek: Quote
1947PLEVY Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 I saw a few of these cars heading back up to Ky. Mainly old trucks and a sharp looking Demon. Some would look better with some paint and a little body work. Just my opinion.. Take Care and God Bless... John 47Plevy I hope to have my car painted in about a month.....YEAH... Quote

Chance did drive his woody The Hudson would have to get my vote. Looks like it was a good show with quite a variety. Thanks, Don. There were actually 3 hudsons there but I only pictured two of them. The black one parked near me belongs to my friend Mark Hudson. It has a 308 Hudson flathead with dual exhaust and a big 4bbl carburetor. John; You should have attended the show. It was huge. There was also a Mopar show on the other side of the fair grounds. Lisa and I spent 8 hours at this show and I never did make it over to look at the Mopar show. It was mostly muscle cars. Quote
Don Coatney Posted September 28, 2008 Author Report Posted September 28, 2008 I met the owner of this Plymouth a couple years ago at another show. I told him about my George Asche setup. He is now running a George Asche set of manifolds and carburetors. He also just got an Asche overdrive but has not yet installed it. Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 Oh my, why didn't you take a pic of that "Crown vic" my god man have you no heart! Quote
PatS.... Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 Those were some of the most interesting pics I've seen in a long time, Don. Normally, those "rat rods" leave me cold but those showed alot of imagination. Thanks...I enjoyed those. Camel Towing Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 We are going to have a show like that here in Barstow today At The Historical Skyline Drive In, from 12 noon till 11 pm. Gene Winfield and Larry Watson are going to be here. Tonight they are going to show American Graffiti at the Drive In. Dennis:cool: http://docfranknstein.com/ Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 Don, You must really like that green 51/52 Plymouth 2 door hardtop. You have it in several pictures. One nice thing about an unpainted rat rod. You don't have to worry about someone scratching it, or a rock chipping the paint. From the looks of them though, I think a lot of those are just cars that people are building and not finished yet. I'd guess from the looks that a lot of those will someday be painted. I like 59 Chevy's, but I don't think I like that truck with the 59 Chevy bed in the rear. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 FYI its a 51. Thanks Ed. Wasn't sure what the difference in 51/52 was since they look almost the same. Didn't want to look it up. Quote
John Mulders Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 Great pictures, funny cars Don, thanks. I like the "Bob's funeral parlor and crematorium" combination with the 'Hot Wings". Also nice detail with the skull on the pole on the bed..... John Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted September 28, 2008 Report Posted September 28, 2008 I agree on the hotwings John..thought that was appropriate in a sick kinda way..everytime I go to a show and some of the HAMB rides show up..I do look them over because some of the things they do are out-dare as they say.. Quote
John Reddie Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 These two years are quite similar arn't they. I look for the hood ornament and hood medalion. You can see in the attached photos the differences between the years. John R Quote
Young Ed Posted September 29, 2008 Report Posted September 29, 2008 Also notice the name plate on the front fender. 51 has block letters and 52 a script. Also a 52 belvedere would have a 2tone moulding flowing down the 1/4. 51 belvederes were 2tone with just the roof. Quote
